I blame Paul, he clearly was tying to be an ass by constantly remaking the pile. It is a bit funny because we have one of those "lawn people" in the neighborhood. The guy blows stuff off his lawn in the winter. Screw those perfect lawn people, but Paul repeatedly provoked the guy. A neighbor called the both little shits...or something like that.

Trenton elected its first openly gay mayor, Reed Gusciora, who Christie once referred to as Numbnuts.

I dealt with Reed several times. Seemingly good guy and super sharp tack.

Let's hope he's the guy who can pull Trenton out of its 300-year funk.

Assemblyman Reed Gusciora becomes Trenton’s first openly gay mayor in historic win

The loser, Paul Perez, began his concession speech like a consummate pro:

“We kicked ass and f*ck The Trentonian,” Perez said to his supporters, blaming the newspaper for his loss.

Good quote in the story although she probably meant can't:

Asked about what it means to be the city’s first openly gay mayor, he responded, “I was in the West Ward at Grace Community Church and this 80-year-old woman, she goes, ‘I can care less what you do in your bedroom. I want these potholes fixed.’”

Yeah, I found SJ by searching for the presentment in the Penn State case in late 2011. So folks can blame JoePa for me being here.

Honestly, your style of posting is annoying. I don't know why I respond, other than the fact that I have an opinion about what the DOJ did (not your dancing bear posts and dismissals) -- and found it to be a serious abuse of power, as disgusting as anything Trump has done so far.

But rather than address the fact that they brought an action -- and forced AT&T and Time Warner to waste a lot of money and have to fight a corrupt government -- you shift the conversation to, "They weren't told they have to sell AT&T," that was "planted" by AT&T. ... Which is just you saying something over and over again. Because of course Trump's goons went to them and said, "We're not going to approve you deal unless you sell CNN."

When the FT reported it (they effectively publish a day before the U.S. papers because of the time difference), the DOJ turned around and changed its tune. I thought it took a few days (working for memory). It took a few hours. But it's exactly what happened.

I have no idea why you aer parsing dates on whatever stories you can google up,to try to create a false narrative. It's still not what ACTUALLY happened.

They took heat for the appearance of Trump constantly attacking CNN and then his justice department trying to strong-arm AT&T into selling CNN to get approval. I remember this! So they went on the record saying, "Oh no. That isn't what we were doing. We meant sell Turner or sell DirectTV." Which is a silly thing for you to keep posting over and over again to avoid the actual conversation. Selling Turner would be selling CNN. And selling DirectTV wasn't a serious choice -- that was the POINT of the deal. It was absolute bullshit, but the DOJ wanted to be able to say, "This has nothing to do with Trump and CNN." So they tried to massage their corrupt actions.

And again, what you keep posting about over and over again is an irrelevant piece of minutia. When we originally discussed this on this thread months ago, you did the same kind of posts -- insult me, condescend (did you read it?) rather than actually just discuss it and have an opinion. This was one of your posts:

    This was my response:

And of course, none of that addressed the fact that this was simply Trump abusing his power to force his justice department to fuck with one of his perceived enemies. And what I had said over and over again about how ridiculous the complaint was simply on the merits of an anti-trust action (where they couldn't even manufacture any "harm," because it was a vertical merger between non competitors. .. their "what ifs" were ridiculous). ... was exactly what the court came back with. (the judge must have been Ayn Rand ).

He carried Fairfax County, too, which doesn’t mean too much in the general election, but gave us a wonderful, Trumpian statement in his victory speech last night.

I’m paraphrasing, but he said something like “I never thought I’d have to thank those fruits up in Fairfax, but hey, I won, so thanks!”
