I had an editor once whose catch phrase was "Well ... should be interesting."

He would say it about everything. The aftermath of terrorist attacks. Tiger withdrawing from a major. Celebrity deaths. Lebron going to Cleveland. It became a running joke on our staff.

That is essentially the style of punditry practiced by Todd and Cillizza and now, perhaps to a lesser degree, Brian Stetler.

"What a thing. People will be very excited. Crazy times. Should be interesting."

 

I cut and pasted the opening paragraph because it was an interesting lead in to the article, same reason that the author put it at the beginning of the article. He then talks about what has happened since and is happening today. So? This is somehow an unusual construction?

 

I'm not sure it's a good idea to let a president under federal investigation nominate anyone to the Supreme Court.

Maybe we need to wait until we can figure out what the hell's going on.

You guys are so colossally fucked. I can see the US being split into three or four countries in my lifetime. I don't see any solution for your current divides. You just don't belong with each other.
