Hughes and Warren had been governors of big states. The others had experience beyond the hothouse of prestigious law school, clerkship, appellate court then the Supremes. The life experiences of those cited were far more wide-ranging.

Why should that matter? Whether one concludes that something's Constitutional or not strikes me as unlikely to be informed by one's "life experiences."

Sure it matters. The Constitution is a remarkably vague document. Ideologue Roberts wrote Shelby County negating the black letter text of the 15th Amendment and got away with it. noted to uphold most of Obamacare because he felt it would have been too nakedly political and damaged the Court's power (which it declared for itself back in the day). That's a life experience judgment.A court of legal ideologues will eventually do something so radical the country crushes the court's power. Actual people with political experience know how to work with disparate groups and build consensus. The whole story of Brown v. Board of Ed. was about the search for unanimity, which the majority felt was necessary for political reasons.

It has been said here that there is no evidence that the Dear Leader is racist. None.

I doubt they argument will work with Trumpists. Their boy nominates judges who refuse to say Brown was correctly decided. Their preferred Senate candidate from Alabama doesn't care for the 14th amendment.
