BTW, take 95 percent of our country's history. And impeachment proceedings would be underway right now. Actually, it never would have made it this far. His behavior over the last year plus would have warranted it long ago. We've allowed ourselves not not only become inured to his lies, bullshit, ignorance and hateful beliefs, but on top of it, he will betray his own country and its values for himself. . . .with a thug who is contemptuous of our country standing next to him and soaking it up.

BTW, the "press is the enemy of the people"? The American press (which had to alternate with the Russian agents posing as journalists), to the extent it got a chance to ask any questions, acquitted itself amazingly. Two American reporters were the only ones in the room who actually confronted Putin with tough questions. In this environment, a free press is something people should be fighting their asses off to protect. Unfortunately, the same dumbing down of America that makes it so impeachment proceedings aren't already underway, will make it so that more people don't realize what is important to a free society that protects our individual rights.

What we just saw was not only imbecilic, which would be embarsassment enough. It was treasonous. No hyperbole.

This is true. The leader of the party that believed Reagan a saint just picked Russia over the FBI. I have come to understand how Trump became president. I have no idea how he still is.

He won't. That was a fluke. It won't matter if Doug Jones votes for Trump's Supreme Court picks, tax cuts, spending increases, and to gut Obamacare. He still has (D) after his name.

It does not help that the Alabama State Democratic party is completely dysfunctional and corrupt, run by a black politician who demands to have his ring kissed and is prejudiced against white candidates and an utterly incompetent white woman. It is a complete mess.

It actually says something more awful about America that he's been able to keep his job than his getting it in the first place. Something is so fucked with your system.

So four or five people in the room? And yet I'm sure we'll still have within the hour someone reporting definitively, word for word, that Trump gave Putin a blow job and promised to dismantle all of the United States' nuclear arsenal between slurps.

One other thing. Trump's prepared remarks were about how dialogue and diplomacy are much better than having antagonistic relationships. Why isn't he eager to have a summit with Iran, where he stands next to Rouhani and equivocates and doesn't have any grievances.

At what point do the American people say "Enough"? I've given up on the Republican party, but my God.
