Yeah, didn't vote for Trump. An enthusiastic voter for Clinton.

Point is, the first response Lemon got on this tweet was a reference to Obama having done something like it.

Trump has handled, to be clear, immigration horribly. Just horribly. Hamfisted, bull-in-the-dishes-section approach. Disaster.

But immigration is hard. Really hard. Way harder than people think. And it's not like Obama had many answers. In fact, he did some of the same shit.

I think two things kind of came to a head with Trump's tweet about LeBron. One is that damn near every time he tweets about a POC he tweets "dumb" or "stupid". That pattern has become so obvious that it's getting talked about a lot. We can probably throw "shithole countries" in here as well.

The other is badmouthing LeBron's school. Here's a wealthy guy (and an athlete at that) who wants to do something wonderful for the community. The guy is willing to pay for a school, buy uniforms, feed the students two meals a day. Buy them bikes and helmets. Family assistance. Offers to pay for their college. I don't doubt that he'll pay good money to get good teachers. It's an admirable thing to do, no matter who does it.

The guy criticizing him ran a fraudulent "university", screwed a bunch of students who believed his BS, and got sued over it.

For whatever reason, that Trump tweet pissed me off more than anything he's done in a long time. On the one hand, I feel like we're desensitized to the fact that it's a full-blown crisis and many conservatives are quick to downplay that notion. But count me among those who think things are turning into too much of an echo chamber here. At the end of the day, it's an anonymous message board and I think when the prominent conservative voices are mum on something that speaks volumes about how deplorable it is (see this Trump tweet). I don't agree with the guys on very much, but you'd think the most visible conservatives around here officially worked in the president's communications department the way they're treated. God forbid anyone try to debate on a forum for debate. I mean, if you're strong in your convictions as a liberal you should be thankful for someone like @YankeeFan. This guy has an answer for anything and he keeps people on their intellectual toes. I think he takes shit because he'll come up with an angle on something that makes a fair point and it's just easier to shout about Trump and anyone who doesn't rebuke him as being evil, corrupt, and/or stupid.

But when you get the conservative voices to show up and they can't provide the hint of a believable defense for what Trump is doing, what else can we expect?

Conservatives are as embarrassed as anyone else. But for the most part, they still can't admit what an egregious error they made in the 2016 election.

If anyone wants to provide point-by-point commentary on what Trump is doing right, hey, then there might be that dialogue. We've tried to engage the resident Trump defender, but he just clams up when there's something he can't defend, or deflects to something else.

Fair points? They are very few and far between.
