Remember when Nixon was impeached for making false statements to the American people?

Maybe conservatives are right...the 70s were the good ol days.

It's worse here than other forums I visit, and posters here actually are capable of forming, structuring and defending an argument.
The wall of tweets are a thread-killer.

You've said this multiple times, and you are correct every time.

Sorry - I hate to be repetitive. I just want it to be fun. Isn't that what this is supposed to be?
I was one of the few who actually liked when this thread was like a biker bar.
There's always been those with an inflated sense of self-regard (and a corresponding fatal absence of humor), but at least they were posting original thoughts.

I would have no problem with the posting of tweets being banned here. I can look at Twitter my own damn self, but I'd rather sit here trying to fit successively larger pieces of fruit into my body.

Putting raisins up noses is a popular toddler pastime. Maybe go with a grape and see what happens after a few weeks?

Something that just pissed me off. As I have contributed to individual Democratic candidates in the past and in this election cycle, the party's Congressional Campaign Committee is wild to get its hands on some of my dough and sends me frequent emails which I delete without much thinking about it. But 15 minutes ago I got one telling me that the Democratic candidate in that Ohio special election was hearing reports from his field workers that turnout was just short of him winning, so could I please send them $38 or $388 or $3.8 million to save the day. I have both covered and worked on campaigns, and if they don't have the money like the Friday before Election Day, it does them no good, let alone money through a third party. It can't even pay for the field workers' pizza. This was just plain dishonest as one of Alex Jones' dietary supplement ads and I resent being taken for a fool.
How much smarter to email me tomorrow and say, "we spent X on that candidate in the last days and 1. that's why he won, so send us some to keep up the good work or 2. It wasn't quite enough, so send us some so we can do more in November." As it is, the DCCC ain't getting a nickel from yours truly.

Well, they could be spending more than they budgeted and hope to recoup the added outlay for people wanting to "buy a piece of a victory."
But then again, I used to actually believe those "donor match" e-mails that would turn $25 into $75. And I far prefer parties raising money to support candidates than using some recent outrage to raise money. "Candidate X just said THIS, donate NOW to show him how upset you are."
