Seems like a big deal. Martha Stewart went to prison for five months and was on supervised monitoring for two years for a similar offense.

 

yeah, it is a tweet. It is the best way for me to contribute info. I could write this out but that might imply that I did the research. I think this tweet shows a clear cut timeline. Maybe we should take a second look before we use tweets to make sure they are worthy and contribute to the discussion. I think many of the tweets add to the discussion. I don't know how we are suppose to put the info out there if not with a source behind it.

 

Our grandchildren will cuss us for ruining this place.

Here is a good example, the tweeter is a well known news person, the story is true. I think this is an example of a good tweet.

 

Good tweet, in my experience, is an oxymoron.

Maybe I haven't read The Atlantic lately, or maybe I'm just an old-school, centrist journo, but this kind of phraseology from the ICE story just makes me roll my eyes:

"It’s one thing for a city to require cops to issue a minimum number of parking tickets; it’s another for the federal government to proscribe a daily goal for the number of human beings it will deprive of liberty."

In defense of posting tweets, without them we'd have no idea what the US president was thinking or doing or saying, since press conferences and press briefings are catch-as-catch-can or non-existent.

Tweets that explain and then link to interesting stories are of good use, too.

The unfunny meme and the flaccid anonymous wisecrack we can probably do without.

As evidenced above.
