Add that there are a lot of working parts to the U.S. Medical system, and damn near every one is firmly entrenched with lobbyists in the politician's ears. Insurance companies. Employers. Accountants. Big Pharma. Doctors. Hospitals. Medical care chains. There is a lot of inertia built in.

It's not so much that it's too shitty to fix as it is that everyone wants to minimize the pain and palm the losses off on another interest group. After a while, the citizens get so tired and cynical that they are grateful for even a shitty halfassed improvement, because damn few of those lobbyists are working for them.

 

Nah, they just demand the sons of bitches get fired for kneeling.

 

Of course, but I buy a private plan. I’m not tied to a job by it.

 

I’m told the advance isn’t the be all, end all, as you have to actually deliver the book if you don’t want to have to pay the advance back.

It’s also my understanding that Dick delivered both of the books he sold on time, allowing him to keep both of his advances.

So, I’m guessing he probably doesn’t need your advice on this one.
