President Trump: The NEW one and only politics thread

RIP John McCain. I never agreed with many of his politics, but he was someone all politicians should be more like: fearless not only against enemy combatants but also against his own party.

Let's not forget his epic no-vote for the "skinny repeal" of Obama's healthcare reform bill earlier this year.

 

Followed by a lower-profile vote for the tax bill that cut the legs out from under the ACA. But hey, people watched the show!

 

And also a true savage for inviting previous presidents to his funeral and excluding one.

 

Whatever shady shit he's been doing . . . they most certainly will NOT be included on his tax returns. The tax returns satisfy American citizens' curiosity --- and nothing else. If there were indictable offenses on there, well, the IRS HAS seen them, no? Letting Rachel Maddow see them won't advance anything.

Of course we won't see illegal things in his tax returns, but contents will pose more questions that would lead to some revealing of his suspicious past.

 

JFC. First the Capital Gazette. Then the Globe (thankfully nothing happened).

This rhetoric is dangerous. It's already gotten five people killed in Maryland. What's next? Someone firebombing an entire newsroom?

He'll send thoughts and prayers, through Twitter, of course, and, on the next day, continue the "enemy of the people" nonsense.

 

The Capital Gazette tragedy had nothing to do with Trump.

 

Not directly, but the Gazette shooting surely inspires others who saw attacking a newsroom as something that's possible. Mix that and the enemy-of-the-people rhetoric and you have a tragedy waiting to happen.

 

Based on the past couple of decades, it seems like American schoolchildren are much more inspiring targets than journalists.
