I don’t see mental deterioration at all. He thinks he is brilliant beyond words and thoughts. He needs no preparation for economics or world events. And this plays exactly into his base: undereducated people who believe their common sense is all that is needed to establish their preternatural genius. Trump gives no fucks about anything but his appearance as the smartest guy, ever.
