I have a good friend who could be the nicest and most well mannered person that I know. He has never has had a bad word for anyone in the 25 years that I’ve known him, even people who helped ruin the business that he worked for.

He is a lifelong Republican but the only person I have ever heard him say that he didn’t like was someone he knew in college. Ted Cruz.

If you asked Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Dole, McCain and both Bushes if the democrats loved their country but were wrong about their politics they would have said yes in heartbeat. And they would have meant it. If you ask a Republican House member today that question 90% of them would not answer affirmatively. Most Senate members would not answer affirmatively. Trump would tell you how great the coal mines are and the democrats hate him.

Latest weekly rail freight data. Note the only commodity that declined.

Why would you ask that question, though? That puts you at a disadvantage right away.

You have the same moral ground: "Hey, we all love our country. Every bit as much as your crowd. So can the bullshit."

This must be rigged. The Democrats are trying to make him look bad.

I know someone who wanted to write a story about smoking dope with Willie and Snoop Dogg and comparing the experiences. (Imagine that pitch. Editor: Um... Okay?) He went to Willie's house cold and knocked on the door. Willie answers. Writer explains what he wants to do. Willie invites him in, and they smoke up in the backyard, have a very pleasant time.

I believe this post calls into question your previous post.

    Por que?

The man was elected a month after a tape of him saying "grab her by the pussy" was released. I don't think his latest Twitter meltdown is any worse than that. Hammering how awful he is didn't work in 2016 and I don't think it will work in 2020. "Anybody but" is not an effective campaign strategy.

Again, I would say that normally you would be right. Trump is so historically awful, I think this time it just might work. "We will stop him from doing more damage until he's gone, and then we will fix everything that he broke." I would vote for that in a heartbeat.

Even a sociopath can mimic empathy and compassion. He's not even good at being what he is.

Midterm elections are a referendum on the incumbent President. The Republicans didn't have much of an agenda in 2010 or 2014, nor did the Democrats in 2006, and they all did smashingly because their voters were motivated by cdislike of the President while the incumbent's voters didn't have anything near the same intensity. Trump sucks is a fine message for 2018. In 2020, it'll be one on one, and the nominee's message will be more, "here's how I'll be different than Trump."

"How hard can that be, saying that Nazis are bad?"—Barack Obama.
