Someone who believes that a person would call the FBI on a 17-year-old forecasting he'd be a SCOTUS nominee 36 years later probably believes that somebody would forge a Hawaiian birth certificate to ensure that a Kenyan baby could someday become the president -- oh, wait.

President Tinfoil Q. Idiot strikes again.

So a Republican appointed by Trump himself is out to get Trump? Shouldn't that tell us something?

I've said this before, but there's a guy here in town like this. He's like the opposite of King Midas. Everything he touches, everybody who goes near him, they end up ruined. He's like a Dementor. It's uncanny how he can get involved in the most innocuous thing—youth soccer!—and turn it into an absolute shitstorm: a storm made of literal shit.

Every time I see him, I see Trump. I've started to wonder if it's an actual condition that some people are born with. Like they were born to spend their lifetimes cursing everyone around them.

This is both true and misleading. Obviously, some did vote for him eagerly, but every Trump voter I personally know and have talked to about politics did so very reluctantly and did so for policies like business regulation and taxes, not a border wall and an end to NATO. They'd have voted for whoever they thought was going to bring about the policies they cared about and in the general election, their only choice was Trump.

I'm positive two decades of the GOP shitting on Hillary had plenty to do with it, as well, as many who pinched their nose to vote for Trump saw her as a non-starter. If there were any realistic non-Hillary center/center-right option other than the Trump, I think many who I've talked would have chosen it. But there wasn't.

We get carried away and brand every Trump voter racist and stupid, but I know that's not true. He's a product of the country, sure, and a product of times, but his presidency is also a product of the system. This was an instance when the two-party system and the primary elections system each failed our country spectacularly.
