You never mooned anybody? Never knew anyone who did? Never streaked or did something salacious to get a rise out of somebody, perhaps even a young woman? Never knew that one guy who pushed social boundaries a little too far, or was a little too crazy for his own good (especially when drunk)?
Most sane people call the people who engage in that type of behavior assholes. They've been out there since the dawn of time and can even be fun to hang out with in the right dosages. Some of them straighten up eventually. Most of them don't grow up to be Supreme Court nominees.

When I was a freshman at Michigan State, there were a bunch of kids on my floor from a suburban Catholic school who acted a lot like the guys described at the Kavanaugh parties and became frat boys
Kavanaugh is a smug little fucker just like them

The sexual assault allegations, while disturbing, aren't the only disqualifiers for this candidate. He clearly lied about his role in stealing emails for partisan reasons. His finances are a mess. If he were applying to be an NFL referee or an official in a major NCAA conference, he'd be DQ'd on his debts and instant financial solvency. I know people who were on both ends of that process. He'd be flagged faster than an overmatched rookie RB holding Kahlil Mack. The investigators would be whistling "Atlantic City" while they worked.

I knew people but I never did any of that. And he isn't accused of streaking. Nobody is fucking talking about streaking. Good Lord.

You don’t ask leading questions unless you already know the answers to those questions.

Hell, he’d have had it over with last week.

Well, yeah, but Garland was nominated by a black Kenyan Mooslim community organizer so the Republicans had no problem with blowing him off.

Especially knowing that in a few months they’re going to lose control of Congress for the better part of a generation.

I seem to have heard that before. About two years ago, in fact.

What people say. -- What really happens.

"Trump will never be elected." -- He conspired with a foreign adversary and won.
"Trump is in danger of being removed from office." -- No way 20 Trumpist Senators are flipping on him.
"Demographic changes are about to usher in years of Democratic rule." -- Trumpists cheat in voter suppression, voter intimidation and district mangling to keep power.

I never did it either, but I knew people who were capable of it.
And the analogy to streaking is simply one of doing stupid shit. Dude at a party, drunk and playing a drinking game, thinks it'd be funny to whip out his junk and wave it around. Obviously, he's the only one who thinks this way, but he does it anyway. In the close quarters of a crowded room, things get too close for comfort. I wouldn't classify it as a sexual assault that should follow someone around for 35 years, I'd classify it as "drunk asshole frat bro does drunk asshole frat bro things."

Curiously, this sentence from the NY Daily News piece also works if you remove both commas.

Judge, Kavanaugh’s high school friend, has previously denied that any sexual misconduct took place.

Sorrynotsorry, but rape isn’t under the heading of “teenage boy hijinks.” Teenage boys are not out-of-control monsters completely dominated by the unquenchable power of their STUPENDOUS Y CHROMOSOMES. That’s a fucking choice that they allegedly made and it was and is absolutely vile criminal behavior.

Time to find out who else was involved and ruin them, too.

I'll refresh your memory. From the New Yorker:
Ramirez said that she felt confident enough of her recollections to say that she remembers Kavanaugh had exposed himself at a drunken dormitory party, thrust his penis in her face, and caused her to touch it without her consent as she pushed him away.

This isn't merely close. It is an allegation of direct contact. And that's the sort of delineation that makes a difference in whether something is criminal or just obnoxious.
