Did they knew about this accusation during those investigations? Or have the circumstances changed?

You may be smarter than what you posted, but I can't be sure.

The person you voted for was obviously not qualified for the job, and you knew this coming in. At some point you need to accept that the “lesser of two evils” was actually Hillary Clinton.

But LOL at “Trump Derangment Syndrome” from a person who voted for a moron because the other person was Hillary Clinton.

    Talk about Derangement Syndrome ...

Well, see, I expected some Hope and Change and we sure as hell are getting it! Unlike...

    Oh, LOL. smh

    Have to go work.

    This too shall pass.

If it makes anyone feel any better, think about how he’s been in control of THE button for over 20 months, and we’re all still alive. So, there’s that.

    Have a great day!

I get Armchair's point here. There is a "convenience" factor to all of these allegations coming out when they did. And I don't know how the hell they'll be able to prove anything. It's truly he said, she said, and I'm not sure either side deserves the benefit of the doubt.

It would be simple to say that Kavanaugh should welcome an FBI investigation because it could potentially clear his name and ease the minds of the public. But as with many things in life, I don't think it's that simple. I don't disbelieve these women, but I'm a little specious of any uninvestigated allegations being the smoking gun the anti-Kavanaugh folks want it to be.

I agree with the idea of slowing the process, vetting thoroughly ON THESE ALLEGATIONS and moving forward once there's more information. But Republican leadership clearly doesn't feel that way.

Trump's (solo) press conference yesterday was his first in 587 days. The first septuagenarian president, Eisenhower, had one every week.

As a reminder, at Trump's solo conference in February of last year: he falsely stated he had the biggest electoral college victory since Reagan, assumed an African American reporter personally knew all the members of the Congressional Black Caucus and would help facilitate a meeting and claimed he was the least anti-semitic and least racist person, and drugs are cheaper than a candy bar.

That said, the notion of "why now?" is most easily answered like this:

Because Kavanaugh hadn't been nominated for a seat on the Supreme Court before.

Same reason we didn't hear from Anita Hill until Clarence Thomas was nominated for the Supreme Court.

The Fox interview really pissed me off. Aside from the choice to do a fluff interview like that, which just seemed unseemly and bogus to me. .... He went to Georgetown Prep. I know you know people around his age who came out of those prep schools in the Maryland DC area -- his school, Landon, St. Albans, etc. Instead of painting himself as a lifelong choirboy who only studied and went to church and was a virgin until he was middle aged, he should have just been honest. Something like, "I was a normal 1980s high school kid. We had parties with kegs and we sometimes drank too much. We were KIDS .That doesn't make me a rapist, anymore than a generation of millions of guys my age who grew up similarly are rapists."

If he could have been real, instead of doing the BS act (always love when they bring their "faith" into it) he tried, I think the broad swath of people in the country (not partisans) would have nodded their heads and not held it against him. Instead, now I am hoping someone produces the photo of him at 17 with a funnel or the tap from the keg directly in his mouth.

I'd be shocked if they ever let him do another one of these.

Same week he was laughed out of the UN, too.

    Again, jfc.

Yesterday he insisted they weren't laughing at him. They were laughing with him. Fake news! It was apparently open mic night at the UN General Assembly. When he said that, after the tangent he had been on just before that, I was actually hoping he'd say something like, "Obama never got laughs like that."
