So "the media" is obsessed because a media member is mad other media members are not asking about this, which would point to the idea they're not obsessed.

It's almost as if "the media" isn't a monolith. What a world.

But he's speaking with no authority. He's saying they won't pay for the wall, but that's not his decision.

 

He's making a prediction. I would assume his prediction is fairly well-informed, but as sj.com of late clearly shows, when it comes to these predictions that's not always the case.

 

Mexican president announces via Twitter he's canceling his visit. Trump claims in his speech they mutually decided to cancel the trip.
