Nope. As a Christian, mainstream American Christianity's utter disconnect from actual Christianity is incredibly problematic.

They'll ignore wide swaths of actual scripture so long as you promise to end abortions, upon which they have only the thinnest textual support.

And you had millions of believers tie themselves into rhetorical knots to declare up was down and black was white to justify a man who said he never felt a need to ask forgiveness as the only "Christian" choice.

 

I'd send you to Archibalds before Dreamland, and about a half-dozen places or more in greater Birmingham before their branch office.

 

One wonders how much contact with them you've had. Facebook, Salon and the NYT magazine do not an informed observer make.
