My cousin and I have always been huge Buffett fans. We've traveled to many shows in many states and both spent gosh knows how much on merchandise over the years. He fusses about Buffett's politics but still goes to shows.
Sometime in the mid 90s we both wound up with matching Save the Manatees posters that mention Earth Day. Mine is still hanging.
With middle age, I have have gone from moderate to slightly left-leaning moderate mainly because of environmental issues. He pushes more and more to the right but is not a full blown Trumpanze. He saw my poster the other day and mentioned something about hating that Earth Day shit... nothing wrong with the planet ... blah blah.
I'm a high school teacher with no kids who owns property on an island. He's an engineer with the local electric company, has a daughter, and he loves coal-fired power plants. I always point out to him that's it's ironic that I want to help the planet for future generations but will be dead and leave no heirs; he doesn't care what we do to it but will have legacies having to live with the consequences.

Agreed. I would have thought twice if I were Clinton sharing the stage with him (If I had to guess, Obama was probably asked and refused, but that’s my speculation). But it’s not like they did a duet of “Chain of Fools”.

Margavitaville is painfully overplayed (I much prefer Pina Colada-burg) but I welcome Buffet's support.

I think a good 35 to 40 percent of Nashville is on the blue side, but they don't want to be Dixie Chicked out of the business. They know who buys their records and decides if their songs will be played on radio stations.

Actually, “hitman in a porno movie” is a compliment.

The following is about Nashville the city, not the music industry:

Nashville is helping the state return to a bluer time because of the influx of people not from Tennessee.
Tennessee was historically blue to mixed in terms of the governor and state houses up until the Tea Party revolution 8-10 years ago. It's been ruby red ever since.
Democrats dominated the U.S. Senate until the mid 90s, and the state has had two Republicans ever since.
I don't know if it's taken this long to figure out the Ds and Rs kind of flip-flopped points of view in the mid 60s or what, but Tennessee hasn't been a red state all that long.

Idiot. They didn't think that would be an issue, especially at this important time? Dumb shits.

And I don't know who that guy is but I do hate that juvenile, look at me I said something wrong, smile and look that he gives at the end.

Fox New is irritated at Jimmy Buffett. It's a good day for me.

Buffett altered the lyrics to one of his songs, "Come Monday," to reference Tuesday’s election: "Come Tuesday, things will change. Come Tuesday, we’re making a change. It’s been two insane years and it’s time to really switch gears. It's been two insane years and it's time to switch gears."
Later, Buffett changed some words to his biggest hit, "Margaritaville," to poke fun at Rick Scott, Florida's Republican governor, who is now seeking a U.S. Senate seat: "Some people say there's a red tide to blame," Buffett sang, "but I know, that it's all Rick Scott's fault."
