You do realize his opponents raised less than $10,000 combined, right?

In fact, O'Rourke underperformed in the primary.

Beto O’Rourke fell short of expectations in the Texas primary. Was it because of his name?

He moved leftward to appease the progressive base in Texas and pander to what national progressives wanted from him.

Still, I hope he wins. I think he might.

I pronounced Lima, Ohio, as one would the Peruvian capital as I read that.

My man, you missed a good one in this story. So did the NYT reporter.

So I'm reading this, and halfway down, there's a picture of a Trump supporter named Rachell Marks, from Billings, Montana, who claims to work in car sales while dressing like this:

    Car sales my ass.

Later, in the story, Marks is quoted in the kicker.

Rachell Marks, 59, who works in car sales in Billings, Mont., said she would continue to support Mr. Trump because she believed he told the truth.

“I have an infatuation and a love for this man that’s not normal,” Ms. Marks said. “I give the highest respect when people are telling the truth and giving their political power. If anything, I have a deeper respect now.”

Of Mr. Trump’s previous visit to Montana, when in the wake of a Saudi journalist’s killing he praised a congressman for body-slamming a reporter, Ms. Marks said with a shrug: “People tend to get on people’s nerves.”

So here's what the NYT missed...Rachell Marks is a convicted felon and scam artist of elderly men!

Woman who scammed 2 elderly men sentenced to 10 years probation

    Of course she loves Trump.

Opinion | Last Exit Off the Road to Autocracy

Whatever happens in the midterms, the aftermath will be ugly. But the elections are nonetheless a fork in the road. If we take one path, it will offer at least a chance for political redemption, for recovering America’s democratic values. If we take the other, we’ll be on the road to autocracy, with no obvious way to get off.

It’s a near-certainty that Democrats will receive more votes than Republicans, with polling suggesting a margin in votes cast for the House of Representatives of seven or more percentage points — which would make it the biggest landslide of modern times. However, gerrymandering and other factors have severely tilted the playing field, so that even this might not be enough to bring control of the chamber.

And even if Democrats do climb that tilted slope, anyone expecting Republicans to accept the result with good grace hasn’t been paying attention. Remember, Donald Trump claimed — falsely, of course — that millions of immigrants voted illegally in an election he won. Imagine what he’ll say if he loses, and what his supporters will do in response. And if and when a Democratic House tries to exercise its powers, you can be sure it will be met with defiance, never mind what the Constitution says.

But ugly as the scene will be if Democrats win, it will be far worse if they lose. In fact, it’s not hyperbole to say that if the G.O.P. holds the line on Tuesday, it may be the last even halfway fair elections we’ll ever have.

Phyllis Diller and Hugh Downs are rolling over in their graves!

*My family moved from East Tennesse to Lima to work on the railroad and eventually the tank plant there, so I know it more than I care to admit. Kewpee Burgers are damn good, though.

Can you imagine what a goldmine of marks your average Trump rally provides?

    Truly the Party Of Elephants.

Between Hannity, Flushbo and 400-pound FatFucko himself, there had to be 1000 pounds on that poor groaning stage.
