That's Jim Acosta at a Mike Shanahan or Marty Schottenheimer press conference.

You are comparing holding the President accountable with a press conference that will start with, Coach, tell us about.......

Against all common sense and laws of physics, Christie is classic political story of failing upward.

Did anybody here miss these horrible comparisons that don't hold up to even a shred of critical analysis? I sure didn't.

Congress investigated Kavanaugh. Sure, it was a half-assed investigation, but it did end. He has already been confirmed. With those elements complete, it makes sense for the story to drop out of the news unless something else is discovered. That doesn't mean there isn't anybody still looking, but time isn't the same factor any more. Elements of the story reached a resolution.

The caravan is an entirely different situation. It is still approaching. There is no resolution to the story. President Trump just stopped pushing the story because the mid-terms are over.

See, this answer is so...interesting me.

*By "holding the President accountable" do you mean, like, serving as his quality control? His fact-or-crap meter? Isn't Congress, the judicial branch, hell, the voters, supposed to hold Trump accountable? Didn't the voters do just that on Tuesday night by voting for Democrats to control the house?

*If it were a liberal president and it were a FNC reporter refusing to give up the mic so he could spar with the president yet again (Acosta does this a lot), would that be holding the president accountable? Or would it be grandstanding because you like the president?

*Whose job is it to actually get information from the president when guys like Jim Acosta is busy holding Trump accountable? Do readers and viewers desire Jim Acosta hold Trump accountable? Is politics different in that way?

*If it is different, what makes Jim Acosta particularly good at holding Trump accountable? Is it the 2-minute speeches in the guise of a question? Is it the tweeting? What?

Again: If a sportswriter pulled this stuff week after week, he or she would be on the south side of Skip Bayless in terms of respect.

He's an asshole. But he's qualified for the job. Let's not kid ourselves that he's somehow not qualified for it.

I'm happy to feel unwelcome in the GOP. Their members disgust me.

You want gun control in this country? Have Soros stop funding caravans and have him purchase an AR-15 for every male of color in the US. You'll have the world's strictest firearms legislation signed into law before nightfall.
