Edit: Forgot to add ... in case you didn't know her opponent in the run-off after Thanksgiving is Mike Espy, who just happens to be African American.

Why the hell not appoint a non-member of Congress as the leader of Congress, right?

Seems fair. None of Trump's appointees are qualified for their positions.

 

Nor is, you know, Trump.

 

There's nothing in the Constitution or rules that says the Speaker of the House must be a member of the House. It's not going to happen, but I've always thought that was an interesting note.

 

Of course, it was more than 50 feet.

 

Reminds me of the line from that old Disney movie, "Show me in the rulebook where it says you can't have a horse kicking field goals!"
For someone who is third in line for the presidency and wields as much power as the Speaker, I guess I'd just prefer if they were elected and accountable to someone rather than a stunt casting choice.
