The majority of farmers still support him in this because they think they’ve been getting f-ed by China for a long time. I’m not saying they’re right or wrong, but I know they’re willing to put up with this in the short term to fix what they see as a long-term problem.

If that carries through two seasons, maybe that will change but I’m fairly plugged into that world these days and I don’t see what are usually fairly practical people by nature losing their shit yet.

I think Trump’s a fucking disaster but I do have a bit of respect for the fact that many farmers have so far been willing to stand behind their vote.
