Oh, I think both KY and I thought you were referring to Punk.
Yeah, Lashley's way too big and stiff as a wrestler. But, he's got the one thing McMahon loves -- SIZE!!!

I've always said, if McMahon wants to put the big guys in the main event, fine. I don't have a problem with that. But, on the undercard, let the smaller guys do their thing. That's what WCW did a great job of when they were kicking WWE's ass in the ratings. Great wrestling on the undercard, big personalities in the main event. A little something for everyone.

    Punk kicks ass. He's great.

Yep, Lashley's size means he will be in WWE in perpetuity.

I like him, he seems like a good guy, he's just got to learn how to work a match. But again, given his athletic background, I'm sure he'll figure something out.

Lashley could, in the best of circumstances, develop into a Brock Lesnar type wrestler. Lesnar had a better chance of developing, it seemed, but I remember him being fairly raw early. He could still be a pretty decent worker given the right people working with him. He probably works better as a heel with a mouthpiece, because his personality is lagging right now, but they seem pretty dead-set on making him a lead face.

I agree with all of this. If he could become an in-ring Brock, that would be great.

I also think he would make a great heel.

The one thing I hate about Lashley is they're making him out to be the next Brock Lesnar with his entrance and everything.

You only hate one thing about Lashley?

I liked him when he first came in, but now his character is stale like Cena's.

WWE today pulled Shelton Benjamin, Charlie Haas and Boogeyman from tomorrow night's Memphis Wrestling show at Sam's Town Casino in Tunica, MS in the fallout of forcing Jerry Lawler out of his match with Hulk Hogan on 4/27.

From this point forward, no WWE contracted talent will be allowed to work for the promotion. It is unclear whether Lawler, who has an announcers contract but not a talent contract, would be allowed to work on television or on other shows.

The promotion has used WWE talent since the beginning of time, as well as outside talent.

The issue was the problems with Vince McMahon and Hulk Hogan were such that McMahon didn't want the show to come off. Ironically, the Fed Ex Forum had contacted WWE last week when the site of the show was forced to move and WWE said they had no problem with them housing a show. But Lawler was then told Monday night at television that he wouldn't be allowed to work on the show. Lawler told Maclin that the WWE would reimburse him his deposit money spent to book the building, but Maclin decided against it and wanted to continue with the show.

The program, tickets, billboards, radio and print ads all built around Lawler vs. Hogan will have to be changed, as well as having to redo major aspects of the television show that wuoild air the next two Saturdays.

Despite how it was phrased by Lawler at today's press conference, VH-1 filming was not an issue. The complete issue is that McMahon didn't want such a high-profile match taking place involving Hogan. Lawler asked if he could make an appearance on the show that wouldn't involve Hogan and he was told he could not appear on the show if Hogan appeared. He did appear at the press conference today saying he wouldn't wrestle on the show before it was announced that Paul Wight, the former Big show, would face Hogan.

It has become a major story in the Memphis media since Mayor Willie Herenton was a participant on the show and did interviews regarding the cancellation.

CW-30 in Memphis has a one-hour special scheduled for tonight that would promote the match as well as tomorrow night's show. WWE earlier in the week sent in interviews with Haas & Benjamin for the show, which was unable to be changed by the local station at the last minute. They are expected to run a crawl noting the new main event for 4/27 during the promotion for Lawler vs. Hogan.

Will Lawler quit, much like he did when Kat was released? Must be why lawler takes the occasional bump (remember the Great Khali bump?) so they can give Todd Grisham more chances to work on his on-air skills just in case. ::)

I think McMahon would love to get rid of both Lawler and Ross (paricularly Ross), but every time they try (Paul Heyman for Lawler, Jonathan Coachman for Ross, Joey Styles for Ross, etc...) it never works out. Eventually Lawler's going to quit and/or Ross retire, so they need to figure out a better backup plan than Grisham. They apparently made a run at Mike Goldberg, but it fell through. I tend to doubt they'd be much interested in Mike Tenay or Scott Hudson.

    How about Stuart Scott?

"Boo-yah! What a slam by that brother Lashley! CM Punk, you ain't got to go home, but you got to get up outta here!"
