    If I were Italian and at that show last night, I'd be pissed. I watched from home and thought this was one of the bigger dogs they put out this year. To waste 25 minutes on the "Fan from the stands becoming the champ" was predictable and pathetic. I'd rather have seen a Matt Stryker-Hardcore Holly match or a Great Khaili technical match than what I saw. The m/e had the same, dry, ho-hum finish.

    The two best parts were Cena's reaction to the boos and...well...Mickie James.

    With Jarrett's return to TNA, I think they have (another) chance to pull fans who desparately want them to. Russo will find a way to further botch things up, unfortunately. The Team3D-LAX match was a predictable dog, but the "Fire Russo" chants should be carried all the way up to TNA management. I know Bischoff and Heyman would be good choices, but the door is open for a new vision.

    Raw sucked last night. I can already see that Lashley is the one being pushed and at Backlash, Umaga will be starting his de-push as a pawn in the McMahon storyline. When does Umaga become a face? As soon as he's blamed for the Backlash loss. I do wonder, though, if Lashley will be a heel before June or right after ECW ONS PPV.

    One thing that looked good for a change was Lance Cade. He should be split from Murdoch and pushed as a solo heel. I know that was tried briefly. He's got the size factor working for him and it's time to see what he can do, say on Smackdown.

    He didn't have the size a few months ago when they first came on. Then they took a sabbatical and he was fucking huge.

    Cade's still a bit green, but put JBL with him as his protege and see what happens.

    Cade is a HBK Academy graduate and has been touted for some time by WWE-types. He'll get every opportunity to make it, though he needs to slim down/get off the juice.

    And call me crazy, but I didn't mind the new guy-wins-IC-title angle. You think this devalues the IC title, but Umaga winning it and having it cast away for his Lashley feud hurts it worse. So obviously you have to move the belt off him. But the only two guys to beat Umaga clean -- Cena and Lashley -- aren't going to get it. And you can't have Umaga jobbing clean to drop it, not without weakening him. So you give it to the hotshot callup in front of a hot crowd, solving both the problems by having Lashley interfere (and moving that feud along as well) while adding a much-needed "anything can happen in the WW ... E" vibe that's been lacking for a while.

    Can't wait to see a couple of young girls get fed up with their crush on the Hardy Boys and jump into the ring and pin them to win the world tag team titles ...

    ::)

    Most of the Hardy groupies are about Umaga's size anyway, so that won't be a problem. ;)

    I'm with you on this. Never saw that coming and found it funny. And as you pointed out, it does make sense.

    I liked it too. And I also liked how they gave him the last name of "Marella." A little nod to Gorilla Monsoon and his son, the late referee.

  10. Just got WWE 24/7 here in Charter country. They've apparently added new "TV Classics" section--old Florida show, some old NWA from the mid-80s, Monday Night Wars (a Raw and Nitro from the same night running back to back), ECW and World Class.

    I wasn't too excited... then I realized today they put up the very next eps of NWA, Raw and Nitro from the following week.

    So you can watch shows from Florida, NWA, ECW and World Class. In order.

    Heaven...

    They've always had the Monday night wars shows and NWA shows on there. The Florida territories and WCCW are new, at least that I know of.

  12. Ah. It's still awesome.
