It's possible RVD was trying to send a message, but why would he do it in a ring that contains Umaga, a guy who shot on one of the Jackass guys a year or so ago when he laughed during a beatdown? You're just asking for trouble there. More than likely a screwup -- if they wanted to, they could count RVD out even if he wasn't technically down, and even play it off as the ref being intimidated by Vince.

As for the Foley switch -- WWE (or F, back then) announced the change on their website first. Then WCW did likewise on Nitro, with Tony Schiavone making his infamous "that'll put butts in the seats" comment.

Perhaps you're both right on RVD not giving Vince the complete satisfaction. I'm ready for RVD vs. Styles or Daniels, that's for sure. RVD as X Division champ? Sweet. He and Jerry Lynn can still put together some quality matches.

Is it just me, or did it always look like S.D. Jones had a hole in his back as if he'd been shot?

Also loved how Junkyard Dog would be all foamy at the mouth:

My son was recently invited to a friend's house to watch Wrestlemania on pay-per-view and he wanted me to go with him. I cannot fathom why there's so much fascination with The Undertaker. John Cena, yes. The image is more pure than Stone Cold's, and even he was a "good guy." Batista seems cooler than the Taker.

The McMahon-Trump bit was hilarious. Bobby Lasley would rank right behind Cena as the second-most popular wrestler.

Through it all, it's become a bonding thing for my son and I. I'll even watch the replays of Raw on TIVO during boredom spells just to keep up with him.

I'm not the biggest Undertaker fan, but it's a nostalgia thing with the adults. UT came into the WWF in late-1990, was pushed heavily, and feuded with the biggest names of that time, such as Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, the Ultimate Warrior, Jake Roberts, and Yokozuna. Then in the WWF's peak "Attitude" era, he was a major player as well, facing top guys like Stonecold, Mankind, Shawn Michaels, The Rock, and Kane. Fans respect him for his past contributions. His gimmick, although a bit diminished since he did go around as a biker for a few years, is legendary and kids eat it up. It doesn't hurt that he's still a pretty good wrestler, especially for a big man. He arguably had the match of the night at WrestleMania with a wrestler who is not known for his in-ring prowess, to say the least.

taker's entrance is cool, he's a decent worker, but I get bored with him vs. every big stiff feud all the time. He's varied it a bit with Orton and Booker T, but in general, he gets stuck with the awful big man. Surprised he and Khali didn't feud ... yet.
