This is a first for me, reposting concerning Edge right after he won the MITB match on Raw Monday, but now you know what I think of the various feuds.

I'm currently watching my first ROH DVD, which arrived in the mail this morning.

I must say, CM punk is really awesome on the mic. I wonder why WWE doesn't realize he's the one they need to hitch their wagon to.

  3. which one did ya get?

My friend let me know when they had a $10 DVD sale, so I've got Joe vs. Punk II and Vendetta. Watching Joe vs. Punk right now.

  5. excellent choices! Vendetta has a great Dragon-Strong match...

The matches so far have been pretty good. It's a little hard because I don't know a lot of the guys if they haven't appeared on TNA.

    HEY! Mick Foley!

I know these are probably not big focuses of Ring of Honor, but the commentary, lighting and production values leave a lot to be desired.

But the matches are pretty good. It's a lot like TNA's X-Division before it was gutted.

Because VKM is a fucking idiot who doesn't want anyone to take the spotlight from his son-in-law when he makes his return.

  8. All three of those are a lot better now. Vendetta has better commentary.

  9. I resisted buy any ROH DVDs because I wanted my first experience to be live. I got that chance a couple of weeks ago when they came through Chicago. I was fully aware of the stellar work rate the promotion is known for, but to see it with your own eyes is something else. I should have posted abou this sooner, but the match of the night was the Briscoes (sp?) vs Alex Shelly and Chris Sabin for the tag titles. I'm going to say it was a near ***** match because of all the false finishes, near falls, and actual "tag team" moves. Just a great match and the crowd was really into it.

And since it was Colt's last match, you can clearly see why they have him on the WWE roster right now. I don't know if he'll ever be a major, major player, but he has a lot of potential as a "sports entertainer."

Also, there is a column on wrestlingobserver.com about RVD's options right now and ROH was mentioned as one of them now that they have their PPV. I don't think it would ever happen, but would that be something else. I would love to see RVD in some matches with Delerious, Matt Sydal and Quackenbush. Bryan Danielson too. But I don't think ROH has the resources for someone like RVD and would he be accepted by the fans? Any thoughts from the well-versed ROHbots?

  10. I think he would be based on his ECW original background, and the booker's own start in the same place.

I cannot imagine they could meet his pricetag.

RoH might be able to bring RVD in for a big show or two. I want to say he's doing pretty well on money, even with the closing of his comic book store, so his asking price per show may not be too outrageous. Plus he'd probably give a really good shoot interview.

I kind of hope he doesn't go to TNA, because I don't think they'd know what to do with him. Sure, he'd probably have some great, great matches with AJ, Daniels and Senshi, but they've really dropped the ball on their big acquisitions, and I can't imagine they wouldn't botch him up too.

There IS one way it could work, though. If RVD and Heyman came in and shot like all hell, that could generate a lot of interest. It's been 11 years since the nWo (!), but invasion angles can still draw, and they could generate a buzz that's been lacking in Orlando for a while now.

  12. Would RVD and Heyman draw in the lapsed wrestling fans--who are the ones TNA needs to be viable--any more than the guys they have?

On a mainstream level, Angle and Sting have much more oomph and both have been failures so far regarding helping TNA truly grow.
