They could do a deal with RVD just for the one PPV. He doesn't win, but makes it interesting, kind of like having a guy like Curt Hennig in the Royal Rumble as a guest spot, yet he lasts until the final four.

More WWE firings: Say goodbye to Scotty 2 Hotty, Ariel and Nick Mitchell (formerly Mitch of the Spirit Squad). No major loss, though Scotty hung around for quite some time, and Ariel did that thing where she'd hang upside down from the ropes like a bat with a big set of boobies.

There's an indy fed in Memphis that has Brian Christopher and a team called "Too Cool 2" that, as you can tell, is ripping off the Too Cool gimmick. So that would be a natural place for him to land.

I'm surprised Scotty lasted as long as he did...

Vince is surprisingly loyal to the guys who stick with him. Hardcore Holly and Val Venis always survive the cuts even when they're little more than enhancement talent. Plus I think Scotty might have done some trainer work.

When you think about it, putting a pair of sunglasses on Rikishi and getting him to dance probably gave Scotty a good eight years or so more of a career than he would have had with WWE otherwise.

    Whatever happened to Rikishi?

I think Rikishi runs a promotion in Italy and still does indies. He was also interviewed in that documentary about 101 reasons NOT to be a Pro Wrestler.

Shawn Michaels has a blown out knee, according to Meltzer. He'll try to get through the PPV match, but apparently it's pretty serious. I'd be willing to wager that Orton does an injury angle with him, brings back the Legend Killer moniker and then goes into a feud with HHH when he returns.

    Dammit.

  9. I'd heard some rumors that Scotty 2 Hotty was tight with the Pat Patterson-type muckity-mucks in WWE, if you get my drift...

His character was a perfect cover:

HBK's injury helps people forget the pinning of Edge. I hope. I agree with MM, the Legend Killer gimmick returns and Orton surely understands what is riding on this feud with HHH -- his career in WWE.
