As much as it sucks about Owen Hart's death, one of the brightest spots about it is that Martha Hart, Owen's widow, has a Owen Hart Foundation that has helped so many families. I read somewhere recently that Bill Cosby headlined a charity function for the foundation and it generated some major money for it.

Watched the MSG WWF Classics last night.

Awful matches: Mr. Fuji vs. Tony Garea; Ray Stevens vs. Chief Jay Strongbow.

Main event was a Bob Backlund vs. Magnificent Muraco title match (Backlund's world title was on the line, not Muraco's IC title). Backlund was DQ for shoving the ref, but the best part was that after the match he stormed after Muraco, who was being interviewed close by and Backlund went after him. Even funnier? Three guys holding Backlund back were Garea, Strongbow and SALVATORE BELLOMO! While this was happening, the goofy interviewer was screaming "Security! We need Security!" even though they had a quick shot from the other side of the camera and Capt. Lou Albano was just standing there watching.

Next week includes the hype for Wrestlemania I with Piper, Cyndi Lauper and Albano.

TNA, if you have any sanity left, please let Samoa Joe win tonight. That is all. There's probably leaked results anyway since they film like three or four shows at a time in Orlando anyway, but still...Joe needs to go over Sting. I want Joe to be champ.

    For any SoCal wrestling fans:

PWG is back on 6/10 at 5 p.m. at the Burbank Armory with El Generico vs. Bryan Danielson for the PWG title, Pac & Roderick Strong defend the tag titles against Ricky Reyes & Rocky Romero and Human Tornado vs. Super Dragon, as well as Davey Richards vs. Kevin Steen.

You got your wish, but the match had nothing going for it on Impact. Daniels, who I am a big fan of, looked horrible here and he's scheduled to wrestle Sting on the PPV, hence why he lost tonight. Next week is Styles vs. Jarrett in a KOTM match. They also teased a possible Cage-Tomko KOTM match on Impact tonight.

Only Angle and Joe are confirmed, but here's the five I predict will compete in the KOTM match:

Angle, Joe, Cage, Styles and Roode. I see Samoa Joe winning the title.

Me too, and for TNA's sake, they better have him win it.

Saturday Night's Main Event from Toronto will run on NBC on June 2, but will be taped this Monday. Matches slated include Cena vs. Khali, Batista and Benoit vs. Edge and MVP. The Benoit involvement in a tag match must mean that he'll face MVP at One Night Stand, too.

There's also something described as: WWE's strangest and smallest going head-to-head in a match that can only be seen to be believed.

    Translation: Bathroom break match.

    Update:

SNME will have Finlay and Hornswoggle vs. Boogeyman and Little Boogeyman. Something tells me a new SNL episode would be better.

Raw match for tonight: Cena/Lashley vs. Khali/Umaga/Shane-O-Mac

Raw on June 11: Three-hour show, rumored to be the 2007 Draft Lottery.

Lottery question for the wrestling fans: Instead of shaking up rosters since the wrestlers already show up on other shows now, what would you shake up when it comes to titles (how many, keep/get rid of a title, and how they're defended -- i.e. on all shows or one), the number of PPVs and say an offseason to cut down on injuries?

With three bands, it seems like they could do an offseason in the summer for Smackdown, for example, and replace it with ECW. Or maybe make ECW a six-months-a-year deal and have it sub for Raw for three months and SD for another three. The problem then is if you're down for three months, you either have to rebuild storylines or start over with a new season. Plus if you're conditioned to know that the good stuff won't happen until the end, you might not be as interested in the earlier shows.

There once was a time when Wrestlemania was the "season finale" and wrapped up most if not all of the major plots. Now Wrestlemania just sets up gimmick rematches for Backlash and/or Judgement Day.

One thing, and it's a pretty small issue but it still irritates me, is that the World singles title is on Smackdown and the WWE title is on Raw, but the WWE/World tag titles are on the opposite show. That could be corrected pretty easily by having the tag champs switch shows (oh boy, Deuce and Domino on Raw!).

What I'd do: Unify the three world titles, then establish individual brand champions. Mothball the Intercontinental and U.S. titles. Have the unified champion flip between Raw, SD and (to a lesser extent) ECW. It shouldn't be too hard for the world champ to run two feuds at once; hell, Ric Flair feuded with Magnum T.A., Carlos Colon, Dusty Rodes, Billy Jack Haynes, a random Von Erich and a couple of other regional guys at once. That's why you get the big money.

HHH's pick to be THE MAN would definitely be: HHH
