Out of those listed above, four died young: Kerry Von Erick, Gino Hernandez, Chris Adams and Freebird Terry Gordy. Partly because of those four, I really enjoyed WCCW. Pro wrestling now, not so much.

It was a non-title match ... Lita still holds the belt.

World Class Championship Wrestling is chock full of dead guys. Hernandez, Adams, Bruiser Brody, any Von Erich not named Kevin. Oddly enough, the Angel of Death is still around. Or maybe it's not so odd, come to think of it.

I wasn't watching it, but my dad said it was a title match.

Nope ... similar to last week, Coach allowed a stip where Mickie had her ankles shackled together. DX interferred in the match from their ringside seats and allowed Mickie to pick up the win.

From what my dad said the "interference" was hilarious.

I tell ya, when the wrestlers decline to extend contracts, look out. Anything can and WILL happen to you on the way out.

  8. Grab a copy of the Heroes of World Class Wrestling DVD. Documentary. Great stuff.

As for all the contract stuff, I think I read somewhere Vince is pushing for guys to re-up 3-4 months before their contracts expire so people can't pull an Angle/Christian and be key players on his show one week then in the *groan* Impact Zone the next. On the surface it sounds like smart pre-emptive planning to try not to enable potential competition, but on the other hand I could see it alienating a lot of the vets.

Christian at least honored his contract to the end. Jericho too. Benoit must have re-upped because he too was close to the end of his deal. Booker T re-upped not too long ago.

Christian and Lance Storm are the main event in an upcoming card in suburban Toronto.

When did Edge and Lita break up? I didn't hear about that. I guess that's why she never accompanies him out anymore. Seems they should have worked that into a storyline somehow.

I could be wrong, but I think Edge and Lita ended their off-screen relationship before their on-screen one started. But by that point the Matt Hardy chants had gotten so loud and so many people were into the story that WWE writers felt like they had to make it a storyline, first by Lita turning on Kane (what a fucked up storyline that ended up being), then having Hardy attack Edge and get rehired (only to have Edge kick his ass eight times out of nine until he got booted to Smackdown to enter the never-ending feud with Gregory Helms).
