That's unexpected. I was never her biggest fan, but she filled her role well. Darn shame.

I started a separate thread for Sherri Martel, but posted here first before doing so. I figured in light of Vinny Mac's "death" that anyone else's would need to be mentioned as a REAL death, not a fake death.

See, I told you all it would happen (not that there was ever a doubt among those on this thread):

    From Meltzer's update today:

--In the incredibly classless aspect of our show, the WWE is doing a special McMahon DVD and signed autographed plaque by Vincent as well as a Vincent T-shirt and claiming you can get one of the last items Vince autographed before his untimely presumed death.

I'll bet Claws will be one of the first to buy it...:D

No way. The guys from wrestlecrap.com, however, could be the first ones to buy it.

  6. This whole thing is getting incredibly way out of hand. I just watch the opening of Smackdown and they did the 10 bell salute and the Philly fans (bless their hearts) booed the whole time. Nice job of WWE tv not editing out the two women laughing in the stands. Way to make this even more into a joke.

I've been watching WWF/WWE for a very long time and this whole angle just reeks. And then to see they are taking "advantage" of it with a special on WWE.com. I mean come on!! Please, stop the madnesss. This angle has totally taken away from the draft, which still isn't complete because they are focusing on this ridiculous angle. I mean how much longer are they going to do this and play this stupid charade. And as I'm writing this they are showing this stupid press conference. Reminds me of the "fake" press conferences they had on ESPN with Steve Phillips, Harold Reynolds, etc, holding discussions about individual teams. That was ridiculously stupid as is this damn angle.

  7. Regal's little tribute was great.

  8. Just another thing on this whole angle. For those who read the Eric Bischoff book, there was a part where he talked about what made WCW so successful during its primetime. Part of the reason was providing storylines that blurred the line of reality. Perfect example, obviously, was the NWO. I mean is this angle doing it? Even the casual wrestling fan, the ones WWE sorely needs, can't be buying this whole deal. Any thoughts?

Briefly saw that wwe.com had a story on Shane and Stephanie McMahon having a Fatherless Day on Sunday. What a joke. At least Ross and Pritchard had stuff about Sherri Martel on there and I went to the archives to see part of her Hall of Fame speech. That was good stuff.

Agreed, unless there is a grandslam in the bottom of the ninth here this is one of the WROST angles I have seen in a LONG time for so many reasons!

Y'all doubt the genius of Vincent Kennedy McMahon. Clearly, here's how this angle will play out over the course of the next year...

July 2: We see a "lost" video clip of the explosion on Raw, showing a mysterious figure pulling McMahon's body from the wreckage of the flaming limo.

July 3: The mysterious figure is revealed to be none other than The Boogeyman, who rigged the limo to blow upon learning of his demotion to ECW. With help from the newly revitalized Papa Shango, they zombify McMahon and form the unstoppable Trio of Terror.

July 9: Boogeyman and Papa Shango unleash McMahon on the WWE. He annihilates both Umaga and the Great Khali in a handicap match, destroying whatever monster heel heat both had and starting his run to the top of the WWE ranks.

July 13: On an episode of Smackdown, we see footage of VKM's journey through the netherworld. Apparently, someone brought along a video camera. WWE.com reports it as an exclusive. VKM fights, and defeats, God, thanks to a run-in from the Boogeyman and Papa Shango. PS distracts referee Saint Peter with a potion that makes him throw up. That allows Boogeyman to wallop the Almighty with a chair, and Saint Peter revives in time to count the pin as Jim Ross screams "Noooo! Noooo! Noooo!"
Shawn Michaels is pissed, but still does the job in a revenge match the following Monday on Raw.

July 20: On an episode of Smackdown, Zombie VKM cuts his first promo. "Rarrrghhh!" he says, to a chorus of boos. Amazingly, it's more coherent than the counter-promo Khali cuts 20 minutes later.

August 13: In a triple threat rematch at Summerslam, Zombie VKM unveils his new finisher, the Zombie Slam. It's basically an inverted atomic drop. He wipes out both Khali and Umaga in 90 seconds.

November 25: After a three-month run through most of the top superstars in the WWE, Boogeyman and Papa Shango have returned to Raw and captured the tag titles. Zombie Vinnie has started a feud with a returning HHH, who took the WWE title from Cena in September. Zombie Vinnie and HHH fight for control of ZV's soul. Just when it looks like HHH is getting through, Papa Shango and Boogeyman put some more voodoo magic on ZV.
It all comes to a head at Survivor Series, where ZV imitates Hulk Hogan's old "Hulk Up" gimmick for 30 minutes against HHH. After 12 pedigrees, ZV finally hits the Zombie Slam and tries to eat HHH's brain before Papa Shango and Boogeyman arrive just in time to save the former champ.

January 20: At the Royal Rumble, ZV has a match against the Great Khali. After hitting the Zombie Slam, ZV actually does eat part of Khali's brain. At the next episode of Smackdown, Khali quotes Shakespeare during a promo.
In an unrelated note, Dave Meltzer reports buy rates for WWE pay per views have plummeted. WWE.com reports record sales for the February PPV, tentatively titled "Can You Believe This Crap?" The main event is billed as a Loser Leaves Heaven match between Eddie Guerrero and Owen Hart.

March 30: After seven months of running roughshod over the WWE roster, a force finally arises to challenge Zombie Vinnie -- The Undertaker!
Fresh off an injury, the deadman returns to challenge ZV to a match at Wrestlemania. ZV hits the Zombie Slam on 'Taker after getting up from two chokeslams and a tombstone piledriver. The Zombie Slam earns ZV the win and ends 'Taker's legendary Wrestlemania win streak.
After the match, Paul Bearer returns and smacks Papa Shango and Boogeyman over the head with his urn. As a resurgent Taker restrains Zombie Vinnie, Bearer unzombifies him. Vinnie returns to the world of the living and resumes his place atop World Wrestling Entertainment Inc.
After Wrestlemania XXIV, the angle is never spoken of again.
