Actually, he's much, much better as a heel (and starting out as a heel is always the way to go because eventually, if you're a strong enough personality, the fans will eventually like you and turn you face, making you an even stronger character). I agree, though, he should've been moved to RAW or SmackDown.
I have heard that he's ruffled some feathers backstage, but according to Meltzer, it's really a joke. Meltzer says most of the guys like Punk and get his sense of humor. The main people that don't like him are Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, which Meltzer said on his radio show is odd because HHH and Punk have a very similar sense of humor. Some of the sources feel that HHH sees Punk as sort of the "young lion" who has a ton of potential to steal some of his spotlight and is using his influence on Stephanie and the other "creative geniuses" to keep Punk down the card.

Again, I have no problem with Nitro holding the belt. He's a great young talent. But, he's been buried on RAW recently and hasn't done squat on ECW to be built up. Meanwhile, Punk has been one of the few bright spots on an otherwise dreary product. But, I've given up trying to make sense of WWE's decisions.

I've never seen CM Punk as a heel, but his fan reactions are huge. At WrestleMania, I was surprised at the pop he recieved especially because not too many people even watch ECW. He is way over and it would have been wise to switch him over to SD! as a top face, an area where they are lacking. Then maybe he could turn heel after a few months when Rey returns.

Looks like they'll be building Nitro up bigtime now that he's champ. I love his cocky and charismatic persona and he's certainly a promising young talent. A feud with Benoit will help season Nitro who will have to step up his game as a Champ. But for some reason, I kind of miss Melina by his side...she's a good valet and got the fans involved.

Triple H, whether anyone else here wants to admit it.

True, but I think HBK helped him demand face status with the original run of DX.

  6. WWE's Web site reporting Benoit and his family found dead???

Can't find any other sites reporting on this, though.

    Just found on WWE's site.

If McMahon has one single ounce of dignity in his body, he'll end his stupid death storyline due to this.

Mark Madden (who we know has ties to the wrestling industry) just referenced this on his show.

Okay, so Benoit has to leave the PPV for a family emergency. Then he and the family are all found dead?

Either foul play or the most fucked up coincidence ever. And a real, REAL damn sad thing. I wanted the fake McMahon death angle to get stopped as soon as it started. I joked that they'd be really fucked if someone legit died. Under no circumstances was I expecting this.

    ye GODS

Oh, I'm sure there was foul play. The question is if it was murder-suicide or not.
