When did Edge get hurt during the Mardi Gras stuff? I just watched that on TIVO yesterday and he didn't seem hurt at all.

Saw a spoiler note for tonight's Smackdown on who the next champ is.

    One hint: He's not a cruiserweight-size wrestler.

I, too, saw the spoiler, and all I can say is that I hope it is a short-lived reign.

So is Nitro the best of the three WWECW champions if this spoiler proves true? If so, that's sad.

The spoiler also now changes two matches for the PPV and combines them both into one awful three-way match for the title. Glad I won't have to spend $40 on this one (not that I ever have).

On a side note, Lance Storm's latest commentary at stormwrestling.com talks about how sick he is of the media coverage and the kayfabe nature of those in the business. He even mentions disappointment in Jericho, one of his closest friends -- first match was against him and his last in WWE on the first ECW ONS PPV -- for his recent comments on Larry King show.

And, in case anyone hasn't gotten this whole culture of death thing hammered home enough this month, former ECW tag champion John Kronus (Eliminators) was found dead today at his girlfriend's house. Meltzer provides no other details.

I read that and --- in a thought that can only be further indicative of the previously mentioned culture of death --- said, "I thought he died a few years ago."

And on the lighter side, from SPECIAL wrestlingobserver.com correspondent Tracy Smothers (who I think was called the Wild Eyed Southern Boy and was certainly in a tag team of the same name):

It's always sad to see tag teams together so long feud. Though he makes a good point -- Morton always is the guy who takes the heat in the extended heel beatdowns. They even call it "playing Ricky Morton". My mom will be disheartened, though; she had a thing for Gibson. But she likes Latrell Spreewell, so what the fuck does she know?
