Oh god, Vince is going after the media through his programming. For like the eleventy-zillionth time. At least IRS did a cameo.

We might be careful about making this a political thread. So...I'll start a separate one.

Regal as GM is a great move. He's outstanding and that could clearly be seen in the Dating Game skit.

As for Trip's return, I will quote a text a friend sent to me tonight during the first hour:

    "Dear HHH,

Come back a heel or don't come back at all.

    Sincerely,
    Everyone"

Regal played the role well in the first week of regular programming after the Benoit situation, and I was disappointed that they gave the job back to Coach. I wonder if they're going to phase Coach out since he signed with MSG or YES or one of those channels.

Apparently the point of Vince coming back was to take his shots at the people raking him and his organization over the coals. Because that's a much better way to defend yourself then to ACTUALLY DEFEND YOURSELF. The paternity suit angle could be good (I'm assuming either a wrestler already on the roster or one about to get called up from OVW is the man in question), but after a few weeks of simple storylines and decent wrestling, now we're getting Russo Lite again. That's ... not cool *spits apple*.

Or come back as a face on the first night, come out to a huge pop, thank everyone for their support, tell them how you couldn't have come back without them ... and then turn it all around in the final three minutes of the show with a dastardly heal turn that leaves someone devastated.
Then have him start the DX chop, only to stop midway and tell the fans "no way. not anymore. You people can go screw yourselves."
    Would that work?

Gotta admit, when I flipped back from watching Bonds pop out and saw the dating game segment, my first thought was "Aw geez, what the hell is this shit?"
But seeing Hacksaw in a leisure suit with an open shirt and gold chains ... and the bits with Ron Simmons ... and Regal's little one-liners ... DAMN that was some funny shit.

On another note, what the hell is up with Kennedy? I'm usually working and never watch Smackdown, but I know his rep as a stud and the next great young talent. So why are they having him come to Raw and jobbing to everyone he comes into contact with?
I realize they had to change things up when the injury bug hit, but they had a chance to push him big-time. Now, they're slowly killing his heat. And with Triple H coming back, you know it'll be a while before they think about giving him the belt.
I wanted to see what Kennedy can do, and still do. But week by week, I'm just not giving a damn about him anymore.
