Yeah. I never was sold on Batista as champ, but now I can't wait. Khali has been awful as champ.

No shit, Claws. But it's nice to see some long term planning, isn't it. I know this is what they are supposed to do and things can change, but they sound like interesting storylines.

 

There is no way UT does a WrestleMania job. Not to anyone.

Plus, given the original Invasion angle when ECW was still E C F'n W, Lawler as ECW color commentator makes no sense.

Are we sure Vince isn't trying to give Joey Styles the boot, rather than Jim Ross? It's often been reported that McMahon doesn't like the way Styles calls a match.

 

1. They make such a big deal over Undertaker's unbeaten streak that it's almost inevitable that he'll lose. And when he does, it should put someone over pretty big. I'm also pretty sure that Edge has an unbeaten streak at WM himself, albeit a shorter one. Streak vs. streak with the World title on the line could be epic, except that it'd be at best third on the docket behind a HHH match and a Cena match.

2. Very little about the new ECW makes sense in light of its history, though it was nice to see Balls Mahoney win. Who did Elijah Burke piss off?

3. McMahon isn't a big fan of Styles, but he's been wanting to turf Ross forever. Problem is, there's no good PBP wrestling guys out there (Cole is okay but a dropoff, Grisham is a big drop when he fills in for whatever announcer got hurt/embarassed, Coach bombed as a straight guy, Mike Goldberg turned him down and Styles is too old-school ECW to work in McMahon's eyes). Oddly enough, the best substitution would be McMahon himself, except by this point he's way too far gone in the eyes of his fans. He could never do the PBP thing again.

 

It'd be worth it to see the return of the classic Vince "One! Two! He got him! No, no, he didn't..." call.

He DOES realize that the ovations for him probably sound just like 'N Sync concerts circa 1999, right? Nothing but teeny-bopper/little-kid squeals.

Also, those with true pops/heat don't have to do the pump-it-up,-get-loud arm thrusts to the crowd.

 

Anybody catch the rasslin' talk on Nancy Grace last night? God, Chyna looks like somebody stuck a pin in her and deflated her.

 

Didn't see it, but Chyna's NEVER looked good.

How can Lesnar wrestle in TNA? I thought he had a no-compete until 2010?

 

He sued them last year over the no-compete clause, and the two settled in April. I don't think the terms of the settlement were publicized, but I know he's been wrestling for New Japan (he even renamed the F-5 "The Verdict" in acknowledgement of it) and apparently is also in negotiations with UFC. He pissed off UFC people by immediately challenging Couture over the weekend, but apparently it's an angle with Dana White's approval.
