all week long Vince promise us that history will be made at No Mercy.

He was right, history did happened, the history of the Triple H show running the fucking company.
Three fricking matches in one night? He just had to top Kurt Angle didn't he.

With Cena out as long as he is, WWE really needs to dump the spinner belt and go back to a more traditional look.

the funny thing is Cena dropped his rap gimmick years ago so the "spinner" hasn't even came to mind at all. Also given the fact that he's held that title for the majority of the last 2 and half years.

OK, so that was pretty cool.

WWE trots out HBK as the face to replace the injured Cena. HBK proceeds to launch the Sweet Chin Music on Orton's face (upper chest) and Orton sells it well.

It's no Y2J but it's better than nothing.

True. A complete shocker too, nobody saw HBK coming out tonight. He can still work with the best of them, as proven at WM 23...

    Kennedy-Jeff Hardy match was fantastic.

Looks like they turned the Highlanders heel, which is a fresh look for a stale team.

    Rest of Raw? Bleh.

The Highlanders are still around? Weren't they off TV for a while?

Yeah, they worked house shows and Heat for awhile, but were recently brought back and were looking for a shot at the titles against Cade/Murdoch. However, so were London/Kendrick and the Highlanders are now playing heels in a feud against them.

There had been talk that HBK wasn't even ready to come back and now this move. Either there was bad info reported (possible) or this is going to be HBK's last run before he retires for good (perhaps Wrestlemania against Flair?)

I still think they're close to a deal with Jericho, or else the promos wouldn't be running. My guess is either HBK was more ready (or willing) earlier than feared or Jericho is still negotiating (or both).

I'm not a Hardy fan. He has great matches, but just looking at him (and watching him dance) makes me want to punch him in the face.

Jeff can really work and is so over with the fans, it's ridiculous. So is Matt. They have both come a long way from their early days and can actually wrestle very good 15 minute matches that tell a story.

I think Vince kind of panicked and rushed HBK back for this angle, or maybe Shawn was ready to return although all reports have said he was content at home with his family and heavily involved in his religion/church...but I knew something big was going to happen to close the show once the main event happened at at the end of the first hour. It was a fine ending and adds some intrigue to Cyber Sunday.

I'm wondering where Jericho fits in in all this. Could he come in as a heel and team with Orton against DX?

I would think Jericho would have to come in as a face because he's so over (even though he's not there). But I see him turning on whomever he "helps" in the feuds.

Interesting side note: Jericho was the first "undisputed" U.S. World Heavyweight champion since Buddy Rogers was given the WWWF strap in the early 1960s.

Jericho unified the WWF and WCW world titles early after McMahon bought WCW.
