Agreed. Though there's a little bit of me that admires a guy who tries to keep kayfabe in this time (he still does it, I think), you don't get an Arn Anderson book to read about how the Rock and Roll Express somehow beat them or how they kicked out Ole for not being a team player. You get it for Ric Flair/Horsemen party stories and backstage shenanigans from Mid-Atlantic. Both were sorely lacking.

Loved Foley's first book, thought the second was apologist and mawkish bullshit. Flair's book is pretty good. Also agreed with the guy who said Edge should have waited to write his book; I had no idea why they thought he should get a book when he did, but either he's a strong writer or has a better ghost, because it wasn't bad at all.

The WWE books tend to be much more polished, but the tradeoff is a pro-McMahon, pro-HHH and pro-WWE slant and awkward inclusions of current WWE people to make it more "relevant".

  2. Both should be arriving at the palace tomorrow. Will definitely read Jericho's first. I'm very interested to read about how Batista became a grandfather.

  3. TNA rating Thursday was a 1.0 It's been that way for two straight weeks. This definitely can't be what they had in mind when they went to two hours.

  4. I'm not surprised. I just found time to watch last week’s TNA on DVR and noticed they are doing some highly questionable things. … .

-What’s the deal with the Dudleys, the only well-known tag team in TNA, having this strange angle of getting rid of the X Division? It’s so silly that Bubba Ray can’t even explain it (“Because we can.” Ok, great). If the angle is to put over the Motor City Machine Guns, that’s fine. But I seriously doubt it.

-Why does this heavyweight title tournament have no one in it besides Christian Cage? Everyone knows he will beat Kaz in the final. And they had no explanation of what happened to Jr. Fatu, not that I really care.

-Why is a wrestler the caliber of Samoa Joe feuding with Robert Roode?

-Take Black Reign off TV right now!

-At the end of the episode, they gave away the name of Sting’s mystery partner Scott Hall. Why not hold that for the PPV to see if you can get more buys, or at the very least, say the mystery guest will be on the show next week to get higher ratings?

Strange all around. Your thoughts, insight?

    TNA sucks.

Hey, you wanted my thoughts. :D

  6. That counts, by all means.

TNA's biggest mistake is not taking care of the World title. They're mixing it in with stupid angles and feuds, and having it defended in tag team matches, for Chrissakes.

There should be a hiearchy established of stars, with guys like Angle, Joe, Cage and Styles protected from doing jobs, having clean finishes in matches not against each other, things like that, to build them up as elite.

The NWA made most of its money by doing the same thing with Dory Funk, Jack Brisco, Harley Race and Terry Funk. They brought somebody up by having them work their way up to beating one of those guys for a regional title (see DiBiase, Ted; and Von Erich, David for a couple of examples).

The tag team division should be the same way. A tag team needs time to stay together to gel and get the fans to understand what they're trying to accomplish. Unfortunately, today's ego-infested wrestlers, for the most part, don't want to be "typecast" as tag team wrestlers anymore (read, Hardy, Jeff and Matt, i.e.), but that's also the fault of the federations for making tag team titles out to be a joke (blame one Levesque, Paul for that -- jobbing the tag champs in handicap matches just to stroke his own ego, thus rendering the tag belts as worthless).

It's so fucking simple, it's ridiculous.

Well, it's not like the rest of the biz is in good shape...

  9. No it's not KY, and BTW can't wait for Eminem's next album. He better come out swinging after his last album. Just terrible. Anyway, the rest of the biz isn't in good shape. Actually looking forward to the ROH show I'm going to next month. Read an interview recently, I think it was Christian, and someone suggested that TNA needs to turn into a combination of ROH and WWE. Sometime I see it. But most of the time it's the low budget version of WWE.

I was flipping through the channels tonight and caught the WWE episode of Family Feud -- Flair, Coach, Batista, Booker and Kennedy against Candice, Maria, Michelle, Sharmell and Layla.

Talk about a bunch of dunderheads. The women beat the guys in a runaway to boot.

    Yeah. Post edited for clarity.

Still, my claim they're all dunderheads stands.
