What is the angle with Edge and what's-her-face? [/non-SD watcher]

Edge and the former Mrs. Eddy Guerrero were tonsil-sucking each other.

    Yeah, that's a great angle.

    Way to go, Vince.

I just wasted five minutes fast-forwarding through ECW. Why, oh why, do I waste my time recording it every week?

    Highlights: Festus.

    Lowlights: Everything else.

Along the lines of Festus, did anyone catch the promo he did on Raw the other night where he was dressed up like Cena? Too funny.

Who is this Festus of which you speak?

    "Biscuits and gravvvvyyyy!"

Jesse and Festus have grown on me and the tag match was pretty good. The Miz has really shown improvement in the past few months. The rest of the show, as usual, sucked, including the main event of Kane vs. Big Daddy V. The Kane character has been destroyed for years and BDV will always be worthless Viscera. And why is Mark Henry still employed and interfering in main event matches? Atleast Shelton's squash of Shannon Moore signifies he is line for a big time push and maybe a feud for the title with CM Punk. A triple threat ladder match between Shelton, Burke, and Punk would be awesome and I wouldn't mind seeing that as ECW's match at the Royal Rumble.

Not to spoil anything, but Smackdown looks pretty bad/typically predictable and dull this week as well. Next week, they come to my neck of the woods but I'll pass and wait for the more entertaining Raw brand.

    "Me ... want ... title ... match."

    "Me want title match."

Jericho cracked me up then, and he still does now. I'm so glad he's back.

For those who were surprised to see Jericho back in the ring in Week 2, I'm betting the match vs. Santino was Jericho's way of doing two things. 1) Getting against a decent mic worker in a verbal sparring match. As that goes, it could've been better, but the stuff before Santino came out was great. 2) Getting the Jericho Curse out of the way. For those who haven't read his book, any time he's gone somewhere new, one of his first few matches there has sucked balls. He brings it up often in his book. He could've wanted a nothing Raw match to get it out of the way and get back in ring shape for a PPV main event.

And on a Flair note, the best thing would be to have him keeping winning by hook or by crook. Remember, he's the dirtiest player in the game. Winning a few by cheating is his style. Anyway, build it up until McMahon says he's in the Royal Rumble, and like all his matches, if he doesn't win, he's fired. Then, he wins the Rumble, putting him in the main event at WM opposite Triple H for the world title. Let him win the match, then come out on Raw and retire.

Not many guys would I say you give the strap to when they retire, but this is one.

    I completely agree.

Love the sig, too. I was at that WCW Monday Nitro at the United Center when Jericho went through the list of 1,004 holds ... he was even better on the mic during the commercial break.

I'm insanely jealous. That's one of my all-time favorite Nitro moments.

Speak for yourself. Ten years ago, one of my younger brother's friends goaded me into a "wrestling" match while watching Nitro.

I jackknife-powerbombed him twice. I think one of his ears bled. I also choke-slammed my little brother for good measure.

Fast-forward. Little brother and his friend have both spent time in the military - the friend was a Marine who served a couple of tours in Iraq. Every time I see him out at the bar, he playfully punches me. Hard. In the chest. Multiple times. Leaving bruises.

The moral of the story? Kids, don't powerbomb people.
