I give HHH his due: He is a good in-ring worker -- sometimes a great in-ring worker -- good psychology, though he tends to repeat the same match every night (that's what happens when you script it out in the back instead of in the ring).

He is at least decent on the mike, and has a great persona/charisma.

That said, being married to the Billion Dollar Princess, being in charge of the "glass ceiling" and having friends such as HBK and Kevin Nash make me hate him with a passion.

Nice to see RVD back for a night. Everything you see from his Web site seems to point towards him being happier out of wrestling and only doing the one-shot gigs he wants.

Because he basically jobbed out Santino Marella, I would be surprised if RVD wasn't coming back full-time.

That's what I'm thinking. They go from pushing Marella big time to having him job to someone who hasn't been in a WWE ring since sometime this summer? That's effed up, but so is just about everything else in that corporation right now.

The WWE.com post-match interview makes it a lot clearer.

OK...So maybe RVD isn't coming back yet...

The blog he posted on Dec. 3 on his Web site is pretty telling. Seems like he's really happy just wrestling when he wants, rather than traveling all over the place all year.

I agree, Trips had some nice one-liners during the opening segment, but he'll always throw out a few bad ones as well, like the too obvious "balls" joke regarding Knuckleball Schwartz. He was better than usual though.

All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed the show. They gave Carlito and Jeff Hardy some good time in their match and it was a compelling PPV-quality bout. Rob Van Dam was a nice surprise, although I'm really confused as to why he completely squashed Santino. Six-man tag match could have main evented Raw on any given week...good stuff until a lame finish.

I surprisingly didn't even mind seeing Hogan for a few minutes, dude's been through alot this year and you know he savored and appreciated that pop he got. It was nice to see some of mid-card guys from the Attitude Era like Al Snow/Steve Blackman (Head Cheese!) Gangrel, Gillberg and The Godfather as well as wrestlers from other eras such as Bastion Booger, Repo Man, Jim Neidhart, Ted DiBiase, Marty Jannetty, and Bob Backland (I thought he was still with TNA?). And I may be in the minority, but I liked the ending as well, I thought it was a neat touch to have all of the wrestlers in the ring toasting with some beers (or in CM Punk and Regal's case, cola)

I watched the last two hours of this for my first wrestling in months -- I enjoyed it. Woulda loved to have seen the Rock or Big Show, but what are you gonna do?

  12. These kind of show always work out well because of the nostalgia factor. I'm interested to see what kind of rating it gets. I think anything less than a 4.0 would be a pretty big disappointment.
