Apparently, a show in Portugal happened last night and it was run as a TNA live show. Angle beat Joe in a likely opportunity to have another warmup match. Wonder if that's how it will go next weekend.

Hahaha. Earlier in this thread, I had a suggestion that TNA hold a live TV special on the same day as WrestleMania (not necessarily the same time, but the same day) to kind of grab some of the fans who are pumped to watch even more wrestling than 'Mania. Almost everyone farted on it. But now that Dr. Tom Pritchard said it's a good idea, it's gold.
I see how it is, Claws. I see how it is. ;) Hahahaha

I would think the Joe / Angle match is going to end in a draw, but under Ironman rules they go to sudden death.

I have to see Joe going to an NWA World Title feud next, so I wanna say Joe will go over. But in Russo-land, things don't always make sense.

I guess I shouldn't rush to support Zip or Skip (which one was Pritchard?) of the BodyDonnas, eh Gimpy? :D

    Zip -- Tom Prichard
    Skip -- late Chris Candido

I liked Impact this week, though again I need to point out that the VKM shit isn't becoming what it mocks because it started that way. Both they and DX are well past their expiration date and living on nothing more than a name from a golden time in the late 1990's. Fucking kill this already.

They really need to figure out a way to get Homicide in the singles scene already. They've got a good thing going with his team with Hernandez, but find him a new partner and break Homicide out, he's established his bona fides in ROH and the indies, has already had incredible matches with Samoa Joe and would probably have them with Angle.

I have to disagree with you there. LAX is by far the best thing in pro wrestling right now. If it ain't broke ...

EDIT: By the way, what did you guys think about that bump Runt took? The Border Toss looks painful enough, but onto a ladder?

    Ouch.

I think you make LAX a Four Horsemen-style stable and let Homicide be the world title contender. I think the bookers wanted Senshi/Lo-Ki to join them, but for whatever reason that didn't happen. Konnan is gold as the manager, but at this point I'd be shocked if he ever wrestled again (not only did he get a hip replacement, apparently he needs a new kidney as well).

My ideal upper card: Joe, Angle, Homicide, Christian, Abyss, Styles and/or Daniels (Sting as a special attraction guy like Undertaker). Jarrett, Rhino and Senshi making occasional forays there depending on the angle. If RVD gets cut by WWE and Jericho gets tired of being a C-list celebrity/rock poseur, they'd work well here too.

Don't know what will happen with Rob Conway since he was canned on Raw Monday. He's always had talent and his theme music ("Just Look at Me....") is downright funny. I'd love to see him get a run at TNA where his skills would be more welcome and appreciated.

WWE is average on a good day. It's watered down and as long as Vince is Vince, no one other his chosen 5-6 wrestlers are going to get quality run. How else to explain why great athletes like Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas have been woefully used while lesser talents like Kane get run?

The only good thing about WWE is the eye candy. Mickie James has to be one of the hottest women on TV. Then again, you can't go wrong with any of them.

  9. Yeah, I don't think Rob Conway really got "fired." We'll probably see him on Smackdown soon or he'll be down in OVW for awhile.

I do like the look of that uppercard. I'd also like to see them sign Brian Danielson if they can.

What I'd really like to see, though is for them to give Alex Shelley a run as X-Division champ.

He's got the look, skill and charisma of a young Chris Jericho and it's high time he got a title push. Give him the belt, let him have two or three feuds to defend it, then have him drop it in an awesome best 4 out of 7 matches feud with Austin Starr.

As for where Rob Conway ends up, my guess would be ECW.

EDIT: Does anybody know how Homicide is on the stick? I know that they've had Konnan be the voice of LAX, and that's been great because he's one of the best in the biz.

But if Homicide is going to be believable as a World Title contender, I think he needs to be able to cut good promos. Especially because they've already had the "spokesman" thing at the top with Abyss.

My exposure to ROH is limited to word-of-mouth and those ROH Video Wire things that show up on Youtube, but I'm to understand he can hold his own promo-wise. At least to the point that he wouldn't embarass himself.

Agreed on Shelley: He's probably the only X-Division guy who can develop a personality on his own. The others need the right environment or the right people (like Nash and Jerry Lynn) to hone theirs.

Also, apparently HHH may have blown out his quad muscle again. His left leg gave out while giving Orton a spinebuster during their PPV match tonight, according to Meltzer, and he limped on it the rest of the match like he did when he suffered the original injury. That obviously could have serious implications for WWE for the next few months or so.

I guess that takes away any chance of him being in the main event at Wrestlemania, then.

This is a good opportunity for them to split up DX, though, which is much-needed.

I hope Triple H is okay.
