It doesn't help that WCW used to tape months of shows at Center Stage in Orlando. I don't know if it's the same facility TNA's using, but if it's not, it's awful close.

It also doesn't help that Gary Michael Capetta does the ring announcing.

I like TNA, but it looks like a slightly better WCW Power Hour.

Power Hour... that's the show I was thinking. I knew Saturday Night didn't have the green neon.

Reminder: TNA comes on tonight instead of its regular Thursday night slot. 10PM.

Lord Alfred Hayes was a great manager back in the AWA days. Loved the Grand Wizard when he was handling the Sheik way back in the day.

Freddie Blassie's handling of the Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff during the turbulent political times of the mid-to-late-80s was masterful as well.

Just noticed something ... what's the deal with hoods in TNA?

    Christian
    Styles
    Daniels
    Angle

    All enter with hoods on.

Christian did it in WWE, but I can't remember when he started (towards the end of his run there, I think). Styles and Daniels have had the hoods a while, and I think Daniels probably has had a hood of some sort the longest. Angle I don't recall wearing the hood that much if at all in WWE, so I'm not sure why he'd doing it now.

Beats the pelican mask or whatever the fuck Raven wears.

I hear ya, Norman, but I only knew about Corny in the 80s via Pro Wrestling Illustrated. He always seemed to have the racket as part of his gimmick. I know now, of course, that Corny's mouth was just as important. That said, Heenan remains my favorite of all time. Sucks that cancer has robbed him of his natural voice. It's tough to listen to his wisecracks now and hear him talk like he does now. I am hoping he's completely beat cancer. It'll be a sad day whenever he departs.

Yeah, I hear ya on Heenan's voice. I heard an interview with him last year and couldn't believe it was him.

But at least he's still alive, unlike so many others from that business.

Angle wore a hoodie briefly when he had the whole Team Angle stable with the World's Greatest Tag Team (Benjamin and Haas). I guess Angle wears it now to make him seem more intimidating.

Isn't David Penzer the ring announcer?

He might be. I can't tell those two apart. Whoever it is was a WCW announcer and it makes the whole thing look like B-grade WCW. I'm surprised they don't get a bag of egg rolls for Michael Buffer to do PPV main events.

Speaking of Michael Buffer, does anybody remember the time he introduced Bret Hart as "Bret 'The Hitman' Clarke?"

It's still one of my favorite wrestling goofs ever.
