Professional wrestling thread

  1. Damn, u beat me to it!! Unreal. BTW, went to Wrestlemania XX at MSG. There is nothing like going to Wrestlemania, and that was a pretty good card. Benoit beat HHH for his first title. Eddie retaining over Kurt Angle, which was a great match with a great ending. Unfortunately, the Goldberg, Lesnar match didn't turn out like everyone had hoped. Pussies!!

Having Umaga with a title seems to me to be merely storyline stuff. Hardy will be with Matt in a WM match I'm guessing against MNM.

So, who will Umaga face? Any takers for Kane? A legend wrestler? A newcomer? A returning wrestler? What about Mark Henry? Who will it be?

    Mark Henry? Why?

Henry is big, the "World's Strongest Man" I'm in no way a fan of his, just thinking about big men who could face Umaga. It sure won't be Viscera, Khali or Big Show or Hogan.

Unless they go with an underdog person who somehow catches Umaga by surprise, I'm actually baffled on this one. OR, could HHH return somehow, some way? How about Foley or maybe even Austin?

Speaking of big wrestlers, RIP to Mike Awesome. Wonder what emotions Tanaka and Storm are having with this news. Another sad story.

Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig is the newest WWE Hall of Famer for the Class of 2007. Meltzer mentioned the other day that Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler will also be going in so expect that to be announced on WWE TV soon.

  6. Well, Hogan is supposed to be out of the picture, according to Meltzer. I say it's either Austin or Foley. Foley could obviously still wrestle every once and awhile, but Austin. I don't know how physical he was in shooting his new movie, but could he wrestle another match, maybe 15 minutes?

They teased a spot with Khali mumbling about wanting more competition. Perhaps that's a sign that Trump will pick him, but I could see Foley's Mankind character taking on Umaga. Only problem with that is Foley isn't a full-time wrestler and Umaga would get another notch in his belt beating Foley.

Unless Trump is really OK with having his head shaved, VKM is going to be the bald one so whoever beats Umaga has to be someone who can also benefit from beating Umaga.

Vince and Trump should have made a real wager -- winner gets to take over the loser's empire.

Trump/McMahon is actually in the news. Don't these people realize this stuff is scripted?

Well, they do. It's just a little fun piece that involves two major figures. Seriously, people will talk if the Donald loses that comb over.

Oh yeah, Donald is going to shave his head, all right. I mean, what next, Britney Spears shaving her head?

    Uh, yeah, right.

Given what I've seen lately of the WWE, they'll come up with some B.S. way to extend the "match" over the next three Wrestlemanias. No wonder my 9-year-old is starting to dig TNA more. They actually wrestle!

Still, we're going to see Raw when it comes to Chicago next month.

I love TNA. I wish the booking could be better, but the wrestling is way better in TNA compared to the WWE.
