I get the feeling it doesn't pay appreciably more than a weekly SE job.

During a break in SNL, I flipped over to TNA. WTF is that chain thing hanging off Steiner's goatee?

Not with us running the show. The pay would have to be tripled...or something.

I think he's been wearing that chainmail thing every since his last year or so in WCW, right around the time he went around the bend. A Kurt Angle 2000 vs. Scott Steiner 1995 match would be balls-out awesome. This will probably suck.

I remember him wearing the chain thingy on his head in WCW.

Thanks for the heads up Gutter. Glad they did something on him. For a big man, he was fantastic. Had people not been so jealous of him (HHH) he may have gotten a decent push in WWF.

Gentlemen, I'm not talking about the chainmail headpiece. There was a piece of chain attached to his goatee. Like it was woven into his chin hair or something.

I know. I just posted that for special effect...or something.

To be fair, WCW probably did more to hurt Mike Awesome than HHH. Remember That 70's Guy? Or Mike Awesome the Fat Ladies' Man? By the time he got to WWE, he was already marginalized and nowhere near the luchadore superheavyweight who could throw chairs with the best of them.

Inky: I did notice what you were talking about, but I don't know when he got that. I don't remember it in WCW, but then I conditioned myself not to look when he was on screen.

As far as Steiner, he didn't have the chainmail goatee thing in WCW. Only the headdress thing.

That 70s Guy (or whatever) and that other gimmick were the worst gimmicks WCW could come up with for Awesome. They could have put him in a feud with Rey (was he there at the time?) or some other big-name cruiserweight (like Eddie or Chavo or one of the Japanese wrestlers they had on the roster).

I think the term was "Fat Chick Thriller."

I remember when his "girlfriend" came out with him to do commentary. She kept asking for doughnuts, and a guy came out with a whole plate full of roast beef sandwiches. She starts saying, with a bad southern accent, "I wanted some doughnuts. I guess this will have to do."

    Yuck, yuck, yuck.

    How terrible is that.
