And the speaker at the moment that night was George H.W. Bush,
who, years later, vomited into the lap of the Japanese prime minister.

I remember that show and enjoyed Kuechenberg in a grumpy-old-man way. Winslow was obviously spent, but I can't fault Kuechenberg for thinking he was a wuss for needing an escort off the field.

He probably left his pipe to give him a reason to come back.

Slight tangent, but how many times does a president visit with a championship team per year?
NFL, MLB, NCAA football, NCAA basketball, NHL, uh, am I missing some sports? Surely some gold medalists every two years for the summer and winter Olympics.

Don't fret for the president, he'll have another Alabama jersey to console him come January. =)

The pro teams usually swing through on a DC/Baltimore visit, they do three NCAA days a year for fall sports, winter sports and spring sports. He's also done an annual NASCAR day as well. Figure Each "visit" lasts maybe an hour. He comes in, makes some remarks about a team, takes a picture; then the next team moves in.

And yeah, he's got plenty of better things to do, and if his highly-paid staff can't come up with a list, he needs to fire them and get somebody who can.

Hell, I could do it pretty cheap.

You prove that you can still do what you want in this country. Didn't Tim Thomas do the same after the Bruins won the Cup?

You need this to prove that?
