Yes--that's how I make donations to Webby. But you have to know there are plenty of people here who aren't willing to concede complete anonymity, and most of those are the folks with names to protect....people you'd really want here.

Look, i'm not arguing against a fee, I've been telling Webby for years he should be able to make money at this.  But you go around and around with it, and in the end, I can see why he hasn't changed the system.

There are two separate issues here: 1) generating income, and 2) discouraging jerks and hackers.  Not sure a pay-to-post system would satisfy enough of either, without hurting the board overall.

 

Seeing as I'm in a random coffee shop working on a football preview story, I'm glad that I resisted the urge to scroll down and see what was in that PM. I figured it was, uh, spam. Or sausage, or whatever. Ick.

Soooooo, we're talking about paying to NOT see asian/oriental/japanese dongs? I don't know, seems a bit racist to me. Millions of dollars a year raked in by the porn industry on the Internet from people checking out American dongs, and we're gonna charge to keep from having to see the Asian ones. I think I know how the little black kid from Chuck~Taylor's sig would feel about this.

(In all seriousness, I'd pay. I need somewhere to do my pissing. Without this place, I'd have to start going into the office to satisfy my weekly petty bickering habit, and anyone who knows me would understand just how painful me taking my ass into the office would be.)

I don't know, 21. I would assume that members anonymity would be protected by Moddy and Webby. It's kind of a priest/confessional kinda relationship.

 

I trust webby with my virtual life, as he well knows. He is one the most discreet and trustworthy people I have ever known.

Not sure all newcomers would feel as secure...that would be my concern, losing professionals with something to contribute.
