Spent time with a doctor for the second time in six days.
I'd say I'm pretty damn good for a while.

    Monthly check-in.
Let's give each other some support.

  4. Just got bronchitis for the third time this year so I am back off. Mean it this time.

I had a little stress early this month. I think I've been through two packs in the past two weeks and three packs for the month. I smoked the last in my pack today, so I'm hoping to make it at least a few weeks without one. I just started a health kick today, so that should make it doubly tough. By my stress level is pretty low at the moment. That should help.

I continue to laugh at Heineken Man's avatar. Funny and cute. I'll try this week, but it's been a rough month for me.

If you're a member of a gym, try sitting in the sauna for a half-hour or so after working out to leach that fucking nicotine out of your system. Then, you know, shower.

I'm actually five weeks into my latest try, and it has gone pretty well.
    Nicotine gum helped early.
I've had to drastically change my habits with regard to alcohol. I'm 0-3 when more than one drink/beer is involved, so I have all but stopped drinking alcohol.

My wife's mother has been diagnosed with lung cancer. She just received the news on Wednesday, so there's still a lot to be determined. But there's no doubt that smoking caused it. She smoked a lot, and not just cigarettes.

She went to the doctor because she had some of the same symptons I have been dealing with for the last few years. That scares me to the point that I start to go numb when I think about it. I hope everyone is succeeding. I've been doing well in spurts. But I'm done. Right now.

Jeebus. Sorry about the MIL, HeinekenMan.
Sad to say, but sometimes it is tragic news like this that becomes the impetus.
If I wouldn't have found that shit on my tongue, I'd likely still be smoking.

  12. I've been good for a few weeks now. I tried the lozenges. Didn't like them too much at first but they're not bad once or twice a day. Otherwise, it's been pretty smooth. I'll get a huge craving at about 3 or 6 months.
