    I'm still hitting 0-for-drinking.
No beer or bourbon, and the no-smoking thing has been great. Stopped in March and things have been great.
However, I play cards once a month at the Elks Lodge. I hadn't smoked in a few weeks when I played in April. I drank and smoked a half a pack.
Didn't smoke for a month. Played cards at the lodge last week, drank and smoked half a pack.
    I'm detecting a pattern.

I've gone three weeks now without a smoke. But I've done it before and then caved. So I'm taking it one day at a time.

I didn't have any desire to smoke when I drank five beers last week. It didn't even enter my mind.

I hope others are doing as well.

Down to like.. five a day.. forcing myself to go outside really helped. I'm too lazy to put on temp. appropriate clothing every time I want to smoke.

    How's everyone doing?

I'm well into my second month without a smoke. I feel pretty good these days.

I just learned that my second cousin, who was born the same year as me, has lung cancer. She's 34. Not much word on my mother-in-law's situation. She hasn't had surgery yet. So I'm waiting to hear more about that.

I bought an exercise bike two weeks ago, and that seems to be helping my lung capacity. The lady I bought it from was one of those crazy smokers who has a cigarette dangling from her lips at every moment. She lost a big wad of ash on the floor in her kitchen and walked all through the house puffing while telling me about this exercise bike. It was absolutely revolting. I was deeply offended that she didn't bother to toss the smoke.

I've been completely smoke free since December 27, 2006. I haven't even cheated and taken a single puff. The last couple of weeks have been really tough because I have entirely too much bullshit going on, but somehow I've managed to keep from picking one up.

Good luck to all who are trying to quit. I consider myself lucky to have never taken up smoking and hope more people will be like that in the future.

It's been awhile. It seems that it's always the person who is doing well who gets the thread moving again. I remember a relapse period where I didn't check in for two weeks.

But I'm happing to say that I'm well into my third month, and I feel spectacular. With some exercise thrown in, I have a new lease on life.

But today was one of the few recent days when I had a craving. It didn't last long. I was jonesin' for some chocolate, but we're out. Then I nearly went for my second dinner before settling for some baked Tostitos with salsa. That seems to have soothed me.

I am going to attempt to join this party as soon as I am done with my present carton, which should be in about three days. Not looking forward to the initial two weeks of being smoke free, in the past they were living hell.
