I've been meaning to quit for awhile now. I even have a box of nicorette on the desk. I can't even make it past the roll-out-of-bed cigarette. I'm weak, so very weak.

Hey, I've always been really weak in this regard to, but one day it just clicked that it was time to quit and I did it. I am sure that time is coming for you as well.

I'm on the nicotine gum, but it's every bit as addictive as the cigs. Costs just as much, too. So I've been on the gum for a long time now, and I'm probably gonna be on it a long time from here on.

The cigs are 1 milligram each, and the lowest-dose gum is 2 mg. Nice alternative, but without some 1 mg gum and maybe then some .5 mg gum, it's tough to scale the nicotine down to nothing.

What a fucking racket. I'm still blowing too much dough on nicotine.

    From a non-smoker:
Dan, you threw those numbers out about the gum, how much nicotine is in a ciggy? The gum is actually more?

Really? I've never had a problem weaning myself off of the nicotine lozenges. I am using the 4 mg ones and am already down to just 4 of those per day. The first couple of days, I ate like 15 a day.
It's probably why I haven't felt very good lately, but I figure it is for a good cause.

What I said above: A normal cig is about 1 mg nicotine, I think.

It varies some, but that's a good reference point.

Yeah, apparently cigarettes are 1 mg. But you tend to smoke a lot more cigs than you eat the gum or the lozenges, so it evens out.

Oh, ok, that makes sense to me now.
I was just curious as to how that worked.

Maybe I'll try that next, thanks.

Now my dentist tells me that chewing gum so much is bad. Grinds down the teeth over the long haul.

I'm sure testicular cancer is next. Can't wait for that!
