I just got an image of Romancing the Stone in my head when Michael Douglas throws the stash onto the fire.

    I'm on a month today.

And I'm dreaming about having one.

Going with a nicotine lozenge instead, 'Du.

    They're awful, but they work.

I'm crossing the three week line tonight, and I don't even want one.

Good for you KG! That's awesome.

I don't intend to quit, as I really don't want to (that's the first step, a desire to do so.)

However, I have made some steps to drastically cut back. I have switched to a shorter, lighter cigarette. And I'm smoking one less each day until I get down to one pack lasting me two days.

I know it's not the same as quitting, and maybe doesn't belong on this thread, but I am having to work hard mentally to reach this goal.

Liesl, What you're doing is a huge step towards wanting to quit one day. Good for you. It may not be as good as quitting, but it's still better than smoking the same amount of the longer ones.

I'm still one of those fighting to quit. I don't smoke NEAR as much or even HALF as much as I used to in a day. I'm getting there again. Keep your fingers or toes crossed or both.

So, it's been about a year and a half since I tried to quit. So, while it's only been two days since I last had a smoke, I had a question.

I've noticed at work that I zone out pretty bad and sometimes it's hard to focus. Does this have something to do with me cutting off nicotine? Or maybe I have a tumor (I'm always imagining I have a tumor whenever something goes haywire with my body). Anyway, I don't remember this happening the other times I've tried to quit, though I also was up to about a pack a day or so recently, so who knows.

    Thoughts?

Oh, and one more thing. Nicotine lozenges are like candy. Great invention.
