We will have a beer one of these days even if I have to drive all the way down the your area. Well, mine might be a rum and coke or a vodka and tonic. :D

He'd have to find it first. Got an electron microscope?

that would have been more funny if you'd have "said" erection microscope.

See this is why I didn't tell anyone I quit a few months ago, they would make fun of the size of my cock.

    Thanks, tony.
Made it to a week now, so I feel pretty good about it. Had some tough times on my weekend, but made it through. I've got a lot of vacation time coming up in the next month, and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Seems a lot tougher on my days off, but I guess the key is just to stay busy and try not to think about it. It's worked so far.

Best wishes to everyone who's working on quitting smoking.

I don't know if advice from a non-smoker is all that helpful, but as someone who broke a three generation streak of smokers, remember that if you slip up once, it's just once. Don't give up and go back to smoking because you slipped.

The same advice applies to those of us who are struggling with diets. Slipping up once isn't the end of the battle as long as you do the right things in response to that slip.

I think I'm going to do like old_tony and check this thread from time to time to see how everyone's doing. Like him, I don't smoke, but I like to see people trying to do the right things with their lives.

you don't know how important that "if you fucked up before while attempting to quit smoking, count it as practice" commercial was to me. i stopped smoking for six months and fell off the wagon about three years ago.

it took me until this past thanksgiving to quit again, and i thought about that commercial often while i was going through withdrawls.

barring a horrific crisis in the next year, i doubt i will fall off the wagon again.

You guys are doing such a great job! I'm so glad to see this thread pop back up again with new people quitting, or oldies giving it another shot.

I'd have to backtrack this thread to see when it was I quit, but I think it was sometime last August or September. It does get easier. For some reason, it has been easier to not go back to it this time. My husband quit a month ago, so now it's not even readily available for me to grab at a moments notice. The only time I really think of smoking now is when I drink. It is harder to resist then, but I manage.

    Keep up the good work.

Mrs. tbf was out of town for the weekend, so I went to hang out with some flight school buddies. I went to the bar and almost buckled. A few beers and tequila shots in, and I was hurting for a smoke. We don't have a smoking ban in town, so all the bars are just like I like them -- smoky as hell.

Didn't crack, though. Maybe because I was too drunk to care about an hour after I got there. But I didn't give in.

More than two months, now. And, no, it wasn't a New Year's resolution. I just decided not to buy a pack one day.
