I'm so proud. That one got me a profane, two-word personal message from the 20-year veteran himself. ;D

leo, thank you. Very interesting. I will surely use this newfound knowledge on the wrong side of the bar.

Two words -- "false representation." That's really the kernel here.

Looks like the 20-year veteran is too busy sending me F-U's in personal messages to come back on here and see that the so-called titty babies (what the hell is that, anyway?) have an actual legal argument in some of these cases.

    ;D

They're entitled to their legal argument.

. . . which does not shield them from justified contempt from their print brethern, in cases of blatant lifting.

That might be the case in larger cities. But in smaller cities, 20-40K papers submit stories to the AP all the time. They may actually get put on the wire 25 percent of the time. AP keeps track of how many stories they put on the wire from each newspaper and how many are submitted by each.

So more than likely the radio station is getting it from the newspaper.

This isn't to say that newspapers don't listen to a radio newscast and pick up a story. BUT (and it's a HUGE BUT), newspapers actually go out and get their own story, call their own sources and write it.
