The newspaper I worked for starting in 1970 moved into a new building in 1978. The paper folded in 1998. Yesterday, I drove past the place and saw that it has become a brewery. Damn, if we had a brewery in our office back then, I might have never left. I'd have been a 24/7/365 employee. I have thought how cool it would be to work in a building in which the ground floor was a bar.

 

Back in the day, SI’s building had a bar on the lower level.

 

The Cincinnati Post had a little diner with a liquor license on its ground floor. I had an occasional scotch break during business hours.

So, one of the summers I worked on my college's paint crew, we were refurbishing rooms in one of the fraternities.
One of the bunk bed mattresses had a dark-ish stain about two feet long and a foot wide. After a while I half-joked with my co-workers that I had to turn the mattress over.
Shouldn't have.
The roughly diamond-shaped stain on the other side stretched to all four sides.
